And the second aspect:

7491 - Abu Zur'a narrated to us, Minjab narrated to us, Bishr ibn 'Umara informed us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding his saying: "And [mention] when Abraham said to his father Azar," he said: Abraham's father was not named Azar; rather, his name was Tarah.

7492 - My father narrated to us, Yahya ibn al-Mughira narrated to us, Jarir informed us, from Layth, from Mujahid, who said: Azar was not the father of Abraham.

The third aspect:

7493 - It was mentioned from Mu'tamir ibn Sulayman, who said: I heard my father reciting: "And [mention] when Abraham said to his father Azar," and he said: It reached me that it is [a word meaning] 'crooked' (a'waj), and that it is the harshest word Abraham, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, ever spoke.

7494 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas, the freed slave of Banu Hashim, narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Salama narrated to us, Salama ibn al-Fadl narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Ishaq said: Among the accounts of Abraham, peace and blessings be upon him, is that Azar was a man from the people of Kutha, from the people of a village in the Sawad, the Sawad of Kufa.

His saying: "Do you take idols as deities? Indeed, I see you and your people."

7495 - Abu Zur'a narrated to us, Minjab ibn al-Harith narrated to us, Bishr ibn 'Umara informed us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn 'Abbas: "And [mention] when Abraham said to his father Azar, 'Do you take idols as deities?'" He said: He was saying, "Do you seek help (ta'tadidu) from the idols instead of Allah? Do not do so." And he says: Abraham's father was not named Azar; rather, his name was Tarah. Abu Zur'a said: [It is written] with two hamzahs.

His saying: "And thus did We show Abraham."

7496 - Usaid ibn 'Asim narrated to us, 'Amir ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, Ya'qub al-Qummi narrated to us, from 'Anbasa, from Ibn Abi Layla, from Ibn 'Abbas, who said: "And thus did We show Abraham the realm of the heavens and the earth." He said: He unveiled what was between the heaven and the earth until he looked upon them while on a rock, and the rock was upon a whale, and it is the whale from which people's sustenance comes until judgment is passed between them.

7497 - Muhammad ibn 'Ubayd Allah ibn al-Munadi narrated to us, Rawh narrated to us, 'Abd al-Jalil ibn 'Atiyya narrated to us.
