الترجمة · EN

[6205] My father narrated to us, Malik ibn Isma'il Abu Ghassan narrated to us, Zuhayr narrated, he said: Khusayf was asked about the saying of Allah, the Almighty: "Enter the gate bowing," he said: 'Ikrimah said: Ibn 'Abbas said: "The gate was facing the Qiblah."

[6206] Al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn al-Sabbah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, he said: "The Gate of Hittah (Repentance) was one of the gates of Iliya' (Jerusalem) in Bayt al-Maqdis (Jerusalem)."

It was narrated from al-Dahhak and al-Suddi similar to the saying of Mujahid.

[His saying, the Almighty: "Bowing."]

[The First Interpretation]

[6207] Al-Hasan ibn Abi al-Rabi' narrated to us, 'Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Ma'mar informed us, from Hammam ibn Munabbih that he heard Abu Hurayrah say: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Allah, the Almighty, said to the Children of Israel: 'Enter the gate bowing,' so they entered the gate crawling on their posteriors."

[6208] Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Yahya ibn Sa'id al-Qattan narrated to us, Yahya ibn Adam narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from al-Minhal, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "Enter the gate bowing," he said: "Bowing (ruka'an) through a small gate, so they entered on their posteriors."

[The Second Interpretation]

[6209] My father narrated to us, Malik ibn Isma'il Abu Ghassan narrated to us, Zuhayr narrated, he said: Khusayf was asked about the saying of Allah, the Almighty: "Enter the gate bowing," 'Ikrimah said: Ibn 'Abbas said: "They entered on their side."

[6210] My father narrated to us, Ahmad ibn 'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn Abi Ja'far narrated to us, from his father, from al-Rabi' regarding His saying: "Bowing," he said: "And the bowing of one of them was on his cheek."

[The Third Interpretation]

[6211] My father narrated to us, Muqatil ibn Muhammad narrated to us, Waki' narrated to us, from Sufyan, from al-Suddi, from Abu Sa'd al-Azdi, from Abu al-Kanud, from 'Abd Allah—meaning Ibn Mas'ud—he said: "It was said to them: 'Enter the gate bowing,' so they entered with their heads held high."
