8723 - My father told us, Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-A'la told us, Muhammad ibn Thawr told us, from Ma'mar, from Qatadah regarding "crooked"—he said: Crooked away from the truth.
8724 - Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim informed me in what he wrote to me, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal told us, Asbat told us, from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "crooked"—he said: Destruction.
His saying, the Almighty: "And remember when you were few, and He multiplied you."
8725 - Yunus ibn 'Abd al-A'la informed me by way of reading to him, Wahb reported, he said: I heard Malik saying: Shu'ayb (peace be upon him) was the orator of the prophets.
8726 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas, the freed slave of the Banu Hashim, told us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Salamah told us, Maslamah told us, Ibn Ishaq told me, he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Ya'qub ibn Abi Salamah did not mention Shu'ayb to me except that he would say: That is the orator of the prophets, because of the excellence of his refutation of his people regarding what they intended for him.
His saying, the Almighty: "And if there is a party [of you]."
8727 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj al-Kindi told us, Yazid ibn Hubab told us, Shu'bah told us, from Abu Bishr, from Mujahid, he said: A party [ta'ifah] is [from] one man up to a thousand men.
His saying, the Almighty: "Be patient."

8728 - Musa ibn Abi Musa al-Ansari told us, Harun ibn Hatim told us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Hammad told us, from Asbat, from al-Suddi, from Abu Malik regarding His saying: "The eminent [al-mala']"—meaning the nobles of his people.
