8506 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj told us, Abu Khalid al-Ahmar told us, from Juwaybir, from al-Dahhak: "And they studied what is in it," he said: They learned what is in it.
8507 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us in what he wrote to me, Asbagh ibn al-Faraj told us, he said: I heard 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam regarding His saying: "And they studied what is in it," he said: They learned what is in the Book and did not come to it out of ignorance. He recited: "And so they might say: You have studied," meaning: You have learned.
8508 - My father told us, Ahmad ibn 'Abd al-Rahman told us, 'Abd Allah ibn Abi Ja'far told us, from his father, from al-Rabi': "And they studied what is in it," meaning: They acknowledged what is in it, meaning [the word was] lightened [in recitation].
His saying, the Almighty: "And the home of the Hereafter is better for those who fear [Allah]"
8509 - My father told us, Sa'id ibn Sulayman al-Nashiti told us, Abu al-Ashhab told us, from al-Hasan regarding His saying: "And the home of the Hereafter is better for those who fear [Allah], will you not then use your intellect?" he said: It is for the people of faith among them.
His saying, the Almighty: "And those who hold fast"
8510 - My father told us, Abu Hudhayfah told us, Shibl told us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid: "And those who hold fast to the Book," he said: The Jews and the Christians.
8511 - My father told us, Sa'id ibn Sulayman al-Nashiti told us, Abu al-Ashhab told us, from al-Hasan regarding His saying: "And those who hold fast to the Book," he said: Meaning [it is] for the people of faith among them.
His saying, the Almighty: "to the Book"
8512 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us, in what he wrote to me, Asbagh told us, from al-Faraj, he said: I heard 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam saying regarding the saying of Allah: "And those who hold fast to the Book," [the Book] which Moses, peace be upon him, brought.
His saying, the Almighty: "And establish prayer"
8513 - My father told us, Duhaym told us, al-Walid told us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Namir told us, from al-Zuhri, he said: Establishing it is to perform the prayer at its [appointed] time.
