8809 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us—in what he wrote to me—Asbagh narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam informed us regarding Allah's saying: "They argue with you concerning the truth after it has become manifest," he said: These are the polytheists arguing with you concerning the truth.
His saying, the Almighty: "As if they were being driven to death"

8810 - Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim informed us, in what he wrote to me, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "As if they were being driven to death," when it was said that they are the polytheists.

8811 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us in what he wrote to me, Asbagh ibn al-Faraj narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam informed us regarding Allah's saying: "As if they were being driven to death," when they are called to Islam.
His saying, the Almighty: "While they are looking on"
8812 - And through him, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd narrated to us: "As if they were being driven to death," when they are called to Islam, "while they are looking on." This is not a description of the others; this is a description initiated for the people of disbelief.
His saying, the Almighty: "And when Allah promised you"
8813 - Isma'il ibn Isra'il narrated to us, Simak ibn Harb narrated to us from 'Ikrimah from Ibn 'Abbas, he said: It was said to the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) when he finished with Badr: Take the caravan, for there is nothing beyond it. Al-'Abbas called out to him while he was a captive: That is not appropriate for you. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said to him: And why? He said: Because Allah has promised you one of the two parties, and He has already given you what He promised you.

٨٨٠٩ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ- فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ- ثنا أصبغ، أنبأ عبد الرحمن ابْنَ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ يُجَادِلُونَكَ فِي الْحَقِّ بَعْدَ مَا تَبَيَّنَ قَالَ: هَؤُلاءِ الْمُشْرِكُونَ يُجَادِلُونَكَ فِي الْحَقِّ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: كَأَنَّمَا يساقون إلى الموت

٨٨١٠ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ، فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُفَضَّلٍ ثنا أَسْبَاطُ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ قَوْلُهُ: كَأَنَّمَا يُسَاقُونَ إِلَى الموت حِينَ قِيلَ هُمُ الْمُشْرِكُونَ.

قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَهُمْ يَنْظُرُونَ
٨٨١٢ - وَبِهِ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ زَيْدٍ كَأَنَّمَا يُسَاقُونَ إِلَى الْمَوْتِ: حِينَ يَدْعُونَ إِلَى الإِسْلامِ، وَهُمْ يَنْظُرُونَ وَلَيْسَ هَذِهِ مِنْ صِفَةِ الآخَرِينَ، هَذِهِ صِفَةٌ مُبْتَدَأَةٌ لِأَهْلِ الْكُفْرِ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى وَإِذْ يَعِدُكُمُ اللَّهُ
٨٨١٣ - حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِسْرَائِيلُ ثنا سِمَاكُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: قِيلَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمَّا فَرَغَ مِنْ بَدْرٍ: عَلَيْكَ بِالْعِيرِ لَيْسَ دُونَهَا شيء، فناداها الْعَبَّاسُ وَهُوَ أَسِيرٌ: لَا يَصْلُحُ لَكَ ذَاكَ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: وَلِمَ؟ قَالَ: لأَنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ وَعَدَكَ إِحْدَى الطَّائِفَتَيْنِ، وَقَدْ أَعْطَاكَ مَا وَعَدَكَ «١» .
