His saying, the Almighty: "Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might."
8833 - 'Isam ibn Rawwad narrated to us, Adam narrated to us, Abu Ja'far narrated to us from al-Rabi' ibn Anas, from Abu al-'Aliyah that "Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise," he says: Exalted in His vengeance when He exacts retribution. It was narrated from Qatadah and al-Rabi' ibn Anas the like of that.
8834 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, Abu Ghassan informed us, Salamah narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Ishaq said: "Exalted in Might, Wise," meaning Exalted in His support against those who disbelieved in Him when He wills.
His saying, the Almighty: "Wise."
8835 - 'Isam ibn Rawwad narrated to us, Adam narrated to us, Abu Ja'far narrated to us from al-Rabi' ibn Anas, from Abu al-'Aliyah regarding "Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might, Wise," he says: Wise in His decree.
8836 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, Abu Ghassan informed us, Salamah narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Ishaq said regarding "Exalted in Might, Wise": "Wise" in His plea and His argument to His servants.
His saying, the Almighty: "[Remember] when He overwhelmed you with drowsiness [giving] security from Him."
8837 - Ahmad ibn Sinan narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us from Sufyan, from 'Asim ibn Abi al-Najud, from Abu Razin, from 'Abd Allah ibn Mas'ud, he said: Drowsiness during fighting is security, meaning from Allah, and drowsiness during prayer is from Satan.
8838 - 'Ali ibn al-Hasan narrated to us, Abu al-Jumahir narrated to us, he said: I heard Sa'id ibn Bashir saying: I heard Qatadah saying: Drowsiness is in the head, and sleep is in the heart.
8839 - My father narrated to us, al-Ansari narrated to us, Humayd al-Tawil narrated to us from Anas ibn Malik, he said: Abu Talhah said: I was among those upon whom drowsiness descended on the day of Uhud, until my sword fell from my hand repeatedly.
8840 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Ahmad ibn Salih narrated to us, Ibn Wahb narrated to us, Yunus informed me from Ibn Shihab regarding the saying of Allah: "[Remember] when He overwhelmed you with drowsiness [giving] security from Him," he said: It has reached us that these verses were revealed regarding the believers on the day of Badr, concerning the drowsiness that Allah overwhelmed them with as security from Him.
