the Hereafter and the first life. It was also narrated from Abu al-Aliyah, 'Ata', Ibrahim al-Nakha'i, al-Hasan al-Basri, and al-Sha'bi similar to that.
The Second Aspect:
9086 - Kathir ibn Shihab al-Qazwini narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Sa'id ibn Sabiq narrated to us, Abu Ja'far al-Razi narrated to us, from al-Rabi', from Abu al-Aliyah regarding His saying: "And know that anything you take as booty, then for Allah is one-fifth of it" the verse, he said: Booty would be brought and placed, then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) would divide it into five shares. He would set aside one share from it and divide the four shares among the people—meaning for those who witnessed the battle. Then he would put his hand into its totality—meaning the share he set aside—and whatever he grasped from anything, he would make it for the Ka'bah; this is what Allah named. And he would say: Do not assign a portion for Allah, for to Allah belongs the life of this world and the Hereafter. Then he would proceed to the remainder of the share and divide it into five shares: a share for the Prophet (peace be upon him), a share for the near of kin, a share for the orphans, a share for the needy, and a share for the traveler.

9087 - Yunus ibn Abd al-A'la narrated to us, Abdullah ibn Wahb informed us, Yunus informed me, from Ibn Shihab, from Umar ibn Muhammad ibn Jubayr ibn Mut'im, from his father, from his grandfather (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) a similar hadith to it, in which he said: Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) took something from the ground, or a hair from his camel, and said: "By Him in whose hand is my soul, I have no part of what Allah has bestowed upon you, not even the likes of this or this, except for the one-fifth, and the one-fifth is returned to you."
9088 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Ibn Fudayl narrated to us, from Abd al-Malik, from 'Ata', regarding: "And know that anything you take as booty, then for Allah is one-fifth of it and for the Messenger," he said: The one-fifth of Allah and the Messenger is one and the same; he uses it and does with it as he wills—meaning the Prophet (peace be upon him).
It was narrated from Ibn Abbas (as a mursal report), al-Sha'bi, al-Nakha'i, Ibn Buraydah, al-Hasan al-Basri, and Qatadah that they said: The share of Allah and the share of the Messenger are one and the same.
الآخِرَةُ وَالأُولَى
. وَرُوِيَ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ وَعَطَاءٍ وَإِبْرَاهِيمَ النَّخَعِيِّ وَالْحَسَنِ الْبَصْرِيِّ وَالشَّعْبِيِّ نَحْوُ ذَلِكَ.

٩٠٨٦ - حَدَّثَنَا كَثِيرُ بْنُ شِهَابٍ الْقَزْوِينِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سَابِقٍ ثنا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ الرَّازِيُّ عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّمَا غَنِمْتُمْ مِنْ شَيْءٍ فَأَنَّ لِلَّهِ خُمُسَهُ الآيَةَ، قَالَ: كَانَ يُجَاءُ بِالْغَنِيمَةِ فَتُوضَعُ فَيَقْسِمُهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى خَمْسَةِ أَسْهُمٍ، فَيَعْزِلُ سَهْمًا مِنْهَا وَيَقْسِمُ أَرْبَعَةَ أَسْهُمٍ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ- يَعْنِي لِمَنْ شَهِدَ الْوَقْعَةَ- ثُمَّ يَضْرِبُ بِيَدِهِ فِي جَمِيعِهِ- يَعْنِي السَّهْمَ الذي عذله- فَمَا قَبَضَ مِنْ شَيْءٍ جَعَلَهُ لِلْكَعْبَةِ هُوَ الَّذِي سَمَّى اللَّهُ، وَيَقُولُ: لَا تَجْعَلُوا لِلَّهِ نَصِيبًا فَإِنَّ لِلَّهِ الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةَ، ثُمَّ يَعْمِدُ إِلَى بَقِيَّةِ السَّهْمِ فَيَقْسِمُهُ عَلَى خَمْسَةِ أَسْهُمٍ: سَهْمٌ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَسَهْمٌ لِذِي الْقُرْبَى وَسَهْمٌ لِلْيَتَامَى وَسَهْمٌ لِلْمَسَاكِينِ وَسَهْمٌ لابن السبيل.

٩٠٨٧ - حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى أَنْبَأَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نحو حديث فيه، ثُمَّ تَنَاوَلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَيْئًا مِنَ الأَرْضِ أَوْ وَبَرَةً مِنْ بَعِيرِهِ فَقَالَ: وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ مَالِي مِمَّا أَفَاءَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلا مِثْلُ هَذِهِ أَوْ هَذَا إِلا الْخُمْسُ، وَالْخُمْسُ مَرْدُودٌ عَلَيْكُمْ.
٩٠٨٨ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ ثنا ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّمَا غَنِمْتُمْ مِنْ شَيْءٍ فَأَنَّ لِلَّهِ خُمُسَهُ وَلِلرَّسُولِ قَالَ: خُمْسٌ اللَّهِ وَالرَّسُولِ وَاحِدٌ يَحْمِلُ فِيهِ وَيَصْنَعُ فِيهِ مَا شَاءَ، يَعْنِي النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.
وَرُوِيَ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ مُرْسَلٌ وَالشَّعْبِيِّ وَالنَّخَعِيِّ وَابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ وَالْحَسَنِ الْبَصْرِيِّ وَقَتَادَةَ أَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا: سَهْمٌ اللَّهِ وَسَهْمُ الرَّسُولِ وَاحِدٌ.
