[The first interpretation]
8232 - Ahmad ibn Sinan told us, ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi told us, from Sufyan, from al-A‘mash, from al-Minhal ibn ‘Amr, from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn ‘Abbas, regarding His saying: "And We have certainly created you, then We fashioned you," he said: They were created from the loins of men. The second interpretation:
8233 - My father told us, Abu Salih, the scribe of al-Layth, told us, Mu‘awiyah ibn Salih told me, from ‘Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn ‘Abbas: Regarding His saying: "And We have certainly created you, then We fashioned you," as for His saying "created you," it refers to Adam. It was narrated from Mujahid, al-Dahhak, Qatadah, and al-Suddi something similar.

8236 - My father told us, Abu Salih, the scribe of al-Layth, told us, Mu‘awiyah ibn Salih told me, from ‘Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn ‘Abbas: "Then We fashioned you" in his offspring. It was narrated from al-Dahhak and Qatadah something similar to the saying of Ibn ‘Abbas in the narration of ‘Ali ibn Abi Talhah.
