ibn Yazid al-Awdi, from ‘Atiyyah al-‘Awfi, from Abu Sa‘id al-Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him, who said: Hell will say: "O Lord, You have promised that You would fill me." Allah will say: "So it is," and Hell will say: "Is there more? Is there more?" and the promise of our Lord will be fulfilled.

His saying, the Almighty: "And O Adam, dwell, you and your wife, in Paradise."

8275 - ‘Isam ibn Rawwad al-‘Asqalani told us, Adam ibn Abi Iyas told us, Abu Ja‘far al-Razi told us, from al-Rabi‘ ibn Anas, from Abu al-‘Aliyah, who said: Allah, Blessed and Exalted, said: "And O Adam, dwell, you and your wife, in Paradise." He said: Allah created Adam on Friday, and admitted him into Paradise on Friday, and He placed him in the Gardens of Firdaws.

8276 - Abu Zur‘ah told us, ‘Amr ibn Hammad told us, Asbat told us, from al-Suddi, who said: Iblis was cast out of Paradise and Adam was made to dwell in Paradise. He would walk therein lonely, having no spouse to find comfort in. He slept a sleep, then awoke, and behold, at his head was a woman sitting, whom Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, had created from his rib. He asked her: "Who are you?" She said: "A woman." He said: "And why were you created?" She said: "To bring me comfort." The angels said to him—observing what his knowledge had reached—: "What is her name, O Adam?" He said: "Hawwa’ (Eve)." They said: "And why Hawwa’?" He said: "Because she was created from a living thing (hayy)." Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, said: "O Adam, dwell, you and your wife, in Paradise."

8277 - My father mentioned it, ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn ‘Umar ibn Rustah al-Asbahani told us, Abu Qutaybah told us, Sa‘id al-Hunani told us, who said: I heard Ash‘ath al-Huddani saying: Hawwa’ was of the women of Paradise, and the child could be seen in her womb when she was pregnant, whether male or female, because of her clarity.

His saying, the Almighty: "From wherever you [two] wish."

8278 - al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn al-Sabbah told us, Shababah told us, Warqa’ told us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid—meaning His saying: "and eat from wherever you [two] wish"—he said: There is no reckoning upon you.

His saying, the Almighty: "And do not approach this tree."

[The first interpretation]

8279 - Abu Sa‘id al-Ashajj told us, ‘Ubayd Allah ibn Musa told us, from Isra’il, from al-Suddi, from whom he narrated it, from Ibn ‘Abbas, who said: The tree which Adam was forbidden from was the grapevine (al-karm). It was narrated from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr, al-Sha‘bi, Ja‘d ibn Hubayrah, al-Suddi, and Muhammad ibn Qays something similar.
