His saying, the Almighty: "And they will surely swear: We intended nothing but good, and Allah bears witness that they are indeed liars."
10072 - Through the same chain from Ibn 'Abbas regarding his saying: "And they will surely swear: We intended nothing but good, and Allah bears witness that they are indeed liars," he said: When the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) built the Mosque of Quba, a group of the Ansar went out, among them were Bahzaj, the grandfather of 'Abdullah ibn Hunayf, Wadi'ah ibn Khidham, and Mujammi' ibn Jariyah al-Ansari, and they built the Mosque of Dissension (Masjid al-Dirar). The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said to Bahzaj: "Woe to you, O Bahzaj! What did you intend by what I see?" He replied: "O Messenger of Allah, by Allah, I intended nothing but good," but he was a liar. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) accepted his word and wished to excuse him, so Allah the Almighty revealed: "And they will surely swear: We intended nothing but good, and Allah bears witness that they are indeed liars."
10073 - 'Abdullah ibn Sulayman narrated to us, al-Husayn ibn 'Ali narrated to us, 'Amir narrated to us from Asbat from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "And they will surely swear: We intended nothing but good," they swore that they intended nothing by it but good.
His saying, the Almighty: "Do not stand therein ever."
10074 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih ibn 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah narrated to us from Ibn 'Abbas, he said: When they finished their mosque, they came to the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) and said: "We have finished building our mosque, and we would like you to pray in it and invoke a blessing." So Allah revealed: "Do not stand therein ever."
His saying, the Almighty: "A mosque founded on righteousness from the first day" (Verse 108).
[The First Aspect]
10075 - Yunus ibn 'Abd al-A'la informed us by way of reading, Anas ibn 'Iyad informed us from Anas ibn Abi Yahya, the freed slave of the Aslamiyyins, he said: I heard my father narrating from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri that a man from the Banu Khadrah and a man from the Banu 'Awf disputed over the mosque that was founded on righteousness. The 'Awfi said: "It is our mosque in Quba," and the Khudri said: "It is this mosque, the Mosque of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace)." So they asked him about that, and he said: "It is this mosque, the Mosque of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), and there is much good in that."

10076 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to us from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَلَيَحْلِفُنَّ إِنْ أَرَدْنَا إِلا الْحُسْنَى وَاللَّهُ يَشْهَدُ إِنَّهُمْ لكاذبون.
١٠٠٧٢ - وَبِهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَوْلُهُ: وَلَيَحْلِفُنَّ إِنْ أَرَدْنَا إِلا الْحُسْنَى وَاللَّهُ يَشْهَدُ إِنَّهُمْ لَكَاذِبُونَ قَالَ: لَمَّا بَنَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ- صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ- مَسْجِدَ قُبَاءٍ خَرَجَ رِجَالٌ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ، مِنْهُمْ: بَحْزَجٌ جَدُّ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ، وَوَدِيعَةُ بْنُ خِذَامٍ، وَمُجَمِّعُ بْنُ جَارِيَةَ الأَنْصَارِيُّ، فَبَنَوْا مَسْجِدِ النِّفَاقِ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ- صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ- لِبَحْزَجٍ: وَيْلَكَ يَا بَحْزَجُ مَا أَرَدْتَ إِلَيَّ مَا أَرَى؟ قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، وَاللَّهِ مَا أَرَدْتُ إِلا الْحُسْنَى وَهُوَ كَاذِبٌ فَصَدَّقَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَرَادَ أَنْ يَعْذُرَهُ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى وَلَيَحْلِفُنَّ إِنْ أَرَدْنَا إِلا الْحُسْنَى وَاللَّهُ يَشْهَدُ إِنَّهُمْ لَكَاذِبُونَ.
١٠٠٧٣ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ثنا عَامِرٌ عَنْ أَسْبَاطٍ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ قَوْلُهُ: وَلَيَحْلِفُنَّ إِنْ أَرَدْنَا إِلا الْحُسْنَى فَحَلَفُوا مَا أَرَادُوا بِهِ إِلا الْخَيْرَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: لا تَقُمْ فِيهِ أَبَدًا.
١٠٠٧٤ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا أَبُو صَالِحٍ ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: فَلَمَّا فَرَغُوا مِنْ مَسْجِدِهِمِ أَتَوُا النَّبِيَّ- صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ- فَقَالُوا: قَدْ فَرَغْنَا مِنْ بِنَاءِ مَسْجِدِنَا فَنُحِبُّ أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ فِيهِ وَتَدْعُو بِالْبَرَكَةِ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ:
لَا تَقُمْ فِيهِ أَبَدًا
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: لَمَسْجِدٌ أُسِّسَ عَلَى التَّقْوَى مِنْ أول يوم آية ١٠٨.

١٠٠٧٥ - أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى قِرَاءَةً أَنْبَأَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ عِيَاضٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ أَبِي يَحْيَى مَوْلَى الأَسْلَميِّينَ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، أَنَّ رَجُلا مِنْ بَنِي خَدْرَةَ، وَرَجُلا مِنْ بَنِي عَوْفٍ إِمْتَرَيَا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ الَّذِي أُسِّسَ عَلَى التَّقْوَى فَقَالَ الْعَوْفِيُّ: هُوَ مَسْجِدُنَا بِقُبَاءٍ، وَقَالَ الْخُدْرِيُّ: هُوَ هَذَا الْمَسْجِدُ، مَسْجِدُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ- صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ- فَسَأَلاهُ عَنْ ذَلِكَ، فَقَالَ: هُوَ هَذَا الْمَسْجِدُ، مَسْجِدُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَفِي ذَلِكَ خَيْرٌ كَثِيرٌ.
