10081 - My father narrated to us, Dirar ibn Surad narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahim ibn Sulayman narrated to us, from Wasil ibn al-Sa'ib al-Raqashi, from Abu Surah, from his paternal uncle Abu Ayyub al-Ansari, he said: It was said: "O Messenger of Allah, who are the ones about whom Allah mentioned: 'Within it are men who love to be purified; and Allah loves those who are pure'?" He said: They used to clean themselves with water.

His saying, the Almighty: "And Allah loves those who are pure."

[The First Aspect]

10082 - Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Rahman al-Harawi narrated to us, Abu Dawud al-Hafari narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Talhah ibn 'Amr, from 'Ata' regarding His saying: "He loves the pure ones," he said: Those who purify themselves with water.

And the Second Aspect:

10083 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashaj narrated to us, Abu Usamah narrated to us, from 'Awf, from Abu al-Minhal, he said: I was with Abu al-'Aliyah when he performed ablution, or I performed it, and I said: "Indeed, Allah loves those who are pure." He said: Indeed, purification with water is good, but they are those who are purified from sins.

And the Third Aspect:

10084 - Sulayman ibn Dawud al-Qazzaz narrated to us, Abu Dawud narrated to us, Ibrahim ibn Nafi' narrated to us, from Sulayman the freed slave of Umm 'Ali, from Mujahid, he said: Whoever does it is not among the pure, meaning: whoever approaches his wife through her anus.

And the Fourth Aspect:

10085 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Sahl ibn Zanjalah narrated to us, Abu Yahya al-Taymi narrated to us, from al-A'mash regarding His saying: "And Allah loves the pure ones," he said: Repentance from sin, and being pure from shirk (polytheism).

His saying, the Almighty: "Then is one who laid the foundation of his building on righteousness from Allah and [His] approval better."

10086 - 'Abd Allah ibn Sulayman narrated to us, al-Husayn ibn 'Ali narrated to us, 'Amir ibn al-Furat narrated to us, from Asbat, from al-Suddi, regarding His saying: "Then is one who laid the foundation of his building on righteousness from Allah and [His] approval better": This is the Mosque of Quba.

His saying, the Almighty: "Or one who laid the foundation of his building on the edge of a bank about to collapse."

10087 - My father narrated to us, Harun ibn Zayd ibn Abi al-Zarqa' narrated to us, my father narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn Zayd ibn Aslam narrated to us, from his father regarding the saying of Allah the Almighty: "Then is one who laid the foundation of his building"—he said: This is the Mosque of Quba, "better, or one who laid the foundation of his building on the edge of a bank about to collapse"—he said: This is the Mosque of Dirar.
