The Second Aspect:

10001 - My father narrated to us, Muslim ibn Ibrahim and Sulayman ibn Harb narrated to us, and the wording is that of Sulayman, both said: Hammad ibn Zayd narrated to us, from Ayyub, who said: 'Ikrimah used to recite: "unless their hearts are cut into pieces in the grave."

The Third Aspect:

10002 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Sa'id narrated to us, 'Abd al-'Aziz narrated to us, who said that Sufyan said regarding "unless their hearts are cut into pieces": unless they repent. And the companions of 'Abd Allah used to recite it: "a cause of doubt in their hearts, even if their hearts were cut into pieces."

His saying, the Almighty: "Indeed, Allah has purchased from the believers their lives and their properties [in exchange for that they will have Paradise]."

10003 - My father narrated to us, 'Ubayd ibn Adam al-'Asqalani narrated to us, my father narrated to us, Abu Shaybah narrated to us, from 'Ata' al-Khurasani, from Jabir ibn 'Abd Allah al-Ansari, who said: This verse was revealed to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, while he was in the mosque: "Indeed, Allah has purchased from the believers their lives and their properties in exchange for that they will have Paradise" to the end of the verse. The people in the mosque shouted 'Allahu Akbar.' Then a man from the Ansar approached, folding the two ends of his garment over one of his shoulders, and said: O Messenger of Allah, was this verse revealed? He said: Yes. The Ansari said: A profitable trade; we shall not rescind it, nor shall we ask for it to be rescinded.

10004 - Ahmad ibn Sinan narrated to us, Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, al-A'mash narrated to us, from al-Ma'rur ibn Suwayd, who said: We went out with 'Umar during a Hajj he performed, and he recited this verse: "Indeed, Allah has purchased from the believers their lives and their properties" to the end of the verse, and he attributed the two pledges to them both.

10005 - My father narrated to us, Hawdhah ibn Khalifah narrated to us, Abu al-Ashhab narrated to us, 'Awf narrated to us, from al-Hasan regarding His saying: "Indeed, Allah has purchased from the believers their lives and their properties," he said: They are those who fulfilled their pledge.

10006 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salamah narrated to us, Mubarak ibn Fadalah narrated to us, who said: I heard al-Hasan saying: Listen, may Allah have mercy upon you, to a pledge that Allah pledged for every believer. Al-Hasan said: No, by Allah, there is no believer on the face of the earth but that he has entered into this pledge: "Indeed, Allah has purchased from the believers their lives and their properties" to the end of the verse.
