His saying, the Exalted: "in six days"
10210 - Abu Zur'ah told us, Minjab ibn al-Harith told us, Bishr ibn 'Umarah told us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn 'Abbas: "created the heavens and the earth in six days," he said: A day the extent of which is a thousand years.
His saying, the Exalted: "Then He established [Himself]"
10211 - 'Isam ibn Rawwad told us, Abu Ja'far al-Razi told us, from al-Rabi' from Abu al-'Aliyah, regarding His saying: "Then He established [himself] (thumma istawa)", he says: He rose above.
It was narrated from al-Hasan and al-Rabi' ibn Anas the like of it.
10212 - My father told us, Hisham ibn Khalid told us, Shu'ayb ibn Ishaq told us, from Ibn Abi 'Arubah, from Qatadah, regarding the saying of Allah: "Then He established [Himself] above the Throne," he said: The seventh day.
Yazid ibn Sinan narrated, Yazid ibn Abi Hakim told us, al-Hakam ibn Aban told me, he said: I heard 'Ikrimah saying: Allah began the creation of the heavens and the earth and what is between them on Sunday, then He established Himself above the Throne on Friday in three hours. He created in a part of it the suns so that people might feel desire for their Lord in supplication and petition, and He created in a part of it the foulness that falls upon the son of Adam when he dies, so that he may be buried.
His saying, the Exalted: "above the Throne"
10213 - Abu Zur'ah told us, Minjab ibn al-Harith told us, Bishr ibn 'Umarah told us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn 'Abbas: The Throne was only called "Throne" ('arsh) because of its height.
10214 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah told us, Abu Usamah told us, Isma'il ibn Abi Khalid told us, he said: I heard Sa'd al-Ta'i saying: The Throne is a red jacinth.
10215 - It was read to Bahr ibn Nasr al-Khawlani al-Masri, Asad ibn Musa told us, Yusuf told us, from Abu al-'Abbas, the son of the daughter of Wahb ibn Munabbih, from Wahb ibn Munabbih, he said: Allah created the Throne from light.
