His saying, the Exalted: "Then they differed."
10286 - 'Isam ibn Rawwad al-'Asqalani told us, Adam told us, Abu Ja'far al-Razi told us, from al-Rabi', from Abu al-'Aliyah, from Ubayy ibn Ka'b, regarding Allah's saying: "Then they differed," he said: They differed after Adam.
10287 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah told us, Shababah told us, Warqa' told us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: "And mankind was not but one nation, then they differed," he said: When one of the two sons of Adam killed his brother.
10287 - Muhammad ibn Yahya told us, al-Hasan ibn 'Amr al-Sabiri told us, Yazid ibn Zuray', told us, Sa'id told us, from Qatadah: "Then they differed therein," he said: It was mentioned to us that there were ten centuries between Adam and Noah, all of them upon guidance and upon a law of the truth, then they differed after that. So Allah sent Noah, and he was the first messenger that Allah sent to the people of the earth; he was sent at the time of the people's difference and abandonment of the truth. Thus, Allah sent His messengers and revealed His Book to use it as a proof against His creation.
His saying, the Exalted: "And were it not for a word that preceded from your Lord," the verse.
10288 - 'Abd Allah ibn Sulayman told us, al-Husayn ibn 'Ali told us, 'Amir ibn al-Furat told us, from Asbat, from al-Suddi, regarding His saying: "And were it not for a word that preceded from your Lord, it would have been judged between them," he says: People were followers of one religion, upon the religion of Adam, then they disbelieved. So were it not that your Lord granted them respite until the Day of Resurrection, it would have been judged between them.
His saying, the Exalted: "Why was no sign sent down to him from his Lord?" the verse.
10289 - My father told us, Ahmad ibn 'Abd al-Rahman al-Dashtaki told us, 'Abd Allah ibn Abi Ja'far told us, from his father, from al-Rabi', regarding His saying: "So wait; indeed I am with you among the waiters," he said: He threatened them with His torment, His punishment, and His vengeance.
His saying, the Exalted: "And when We let the people taste mercy."
10290 - It was mentioned from Muslim ibn Ibrahim, that Mastur ibn 'Abbad told us, he said: I asked al-Hasan about: "And when We let the people taste mercy after adversity that has touched them," he said: That is the hypocrite.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: فَاخْتَلَفُوا
١٠٢٨٦ - حَدَّثَنَا عِصَامُ بْنُ رَوَّادٍ الْعَسْقَلانِيُّ ثنا آدَمُ ثنا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ الرَّازِيُّ عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ: فَاخْتَلَفُوا قَالَ: اخْتَلَفُوا مِنْ بَعْدِ آدَمَ.
١٠٢٨٧ - حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ، ثنا شَبَابَةُ، ثنا وَرْقَاءُ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قَوْلُهُ: وَمَا كَانَ النَّاسُ إِلا أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً فَاخْتَلَفُوا حِينَ قَتَلَ أَحَدُ ابْنَيْ آدَمَ أَخَاهُ
١٠٢٨٧ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو السَّابِرِيُّ ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ ثنا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ: فَاخْتَلَفُوا فِيهِ قَالَ: ذُكِرَ لَنَا أَنَّهُ كَانَ بَيْنَ آدَمَ وَنُوحٍ عَشَرَةُ قُرُونٍ كُلُّهُمْ عَلَى الْهُدَى وَعَلَى شَرِيعَةٍ مِنَ الْحَقِّ ثُمَّ اخْتَلَفُوا بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ فَبَعَثَ اللَّهُ نُوحًا وَكَانَ أَوَّلَ رَسُولٍ أَرْسَلَهُ اللَّهُ إِلَى أَهْلِ الأَرْضِ وَبُعِثَ عِنْدَ الاخْتِلافِ مِنَ النَّاسِ وَتَرْكِ الْحَقِّ، فَبَعَثَ اللَّهُ رُسُلَهُ وَأَنْزَلَ كِتَابَهُ لِيَحْتَجَّ بِهِ عَلَى خَلْقِهِ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَلَوْلا كَلِمَةٌ سَبَقَتْ مِنْ رَبِّكِ الآيَةَ
١٠٢٨٨ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ثنا عَامِرِ بْنِ الْفُرَاتِ، عَنْ أَسْبَاطٍ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ، قَوْلُهُ: وَلَوْلا كَلِمَةٌ سَبَقَتْ مِنْ رَبِّكِ لَقُضِيَ بَيْنَهُمْ يَقُولُ:
كَانَ النَّاسُ أَهْلَ دِينٍ وَاحِدٍ، عَلَى دِينِ آدَمَ فَكَفَرُوا فَلَوْلا أَنَّ رَبَّكَ أَجَّلَهُمْ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ لَقُضِيَ بَيْنَهُمْ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: لَوْلا أُنْزِلَ عَلَيْهِ آيَةٌ مِنْ رَبِّهِ الآيَةَ
١٠٢٨٩ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الدَّشْتَكِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ، فِي قَوْلِهِ: فَانْتَظِرُوا إِنِّي مَعَكُمْ مِنَ الْمُنْتَظِرِينَ قَالَ خَوَّفَهُمْ عَذَابَهُ وَعُقُوبَتَهُ وَنِقْمَتَهُ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَإِذَا أَذَقْنَا النَّاسَ رَحْمَةً
١٠٢٩٠ - ذُكِرَ عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ثنا مَسْتُورُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ الْحَسَنَ وَإِذَا أَذَقْنَا النَّاسَ رَحْمَةً مِنْ بَعْدِ ضَرَّاءَ مَسَّتْهُمْ قَالَ: ذَاكَ الْمُنَافِقُ.
