10376 - 'Umar ibn Thawr al-Qaysari informed us in what he wrote to me, al-Faryabi told us, Sufyan told us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, [regarding] "fear Him (tattaqun)," he said: "You are able."
His saying, the Exalted: "That is Allah, your Lord, the Truth. And what can be after the truth except misguidance?"
10377 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn told us, Abu al-Tahir told us, Harmalah ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz told us, he said: I said to Malik ibn Anas, "What is your view on a man whose affair concerns me?" He said, "That is not from the truth." He said, "Allah says: 'And what can be after the truth except misguidance?'"
It was read to Yunus ibn 'Abd al-A'la and Muhammad ibn 'Abd Allah ibn 'Abd al-Hakam, Ashhab reported, he said: Malik was asked about the testimony of those who play chess and backgammon; do you see their testimony as valid? He said, "As for those who engage in them, I do not see their testimony as having any weight; Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, says: 'And what can be after the truth except misguidance?' So this is all from misguidance."
His saying, the Exalted: "So how are you diverted?"
10378 - Abu Zur'ah told us, Minjab told us, Bishr ibn 'Umarah told us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding his saying: "So how (fa-anna)," he said: "How."
His saying: "Thus, the word of your Lord has come into effect upon those who defiantly disobeyed."
10379 - And by the same chain from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding his saying: "Thus, the word of your Lord has come into effect upon those who defiantly disobeyed," he says: "The word of your Lord has preceded."
His saying, the Exalted: "That they do not believe."
10380 - al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn al-Sabbah mentioned, al-Hajjaj ibn Muhammad told us, Ibn Jurayj said, Ibn Kathir informed me, from Mujahid, his saying: "They do not believe," he said: "When it comes with news, they do not believe."
His saying: "Is there of your 'partners' one who begins creation and then repeats it?"
10381 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah told us, Shababah told us, Warqa' told us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding his saying: "Begins creation and then repeats it," he said: "He gives it life, then causes it to die, then originates it, then gives it life."
His saying, the Exalted: "Say, 'Allah begins creation and then repeats it.' So how are you deluded?"

10382 - Abu Zur'ah told us, Minjab ibn al-Harith told us, Bishr ibn 'Umarah told us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding his saying: "How are you deluded (tufakun)," he said: "You are lied to."
١٠٣٧٦ - أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ ثَوْرٍ الْقَيْسَارِيُّ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ، ثنا الْفِرْيَابِيُّ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ تَتَّقُونَ: تَسْتَطِيعُونَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: فَذَلِكُمُ اللَّهُ رَبُّكُمُ الْحَقُّ فَمَاذَا بَعْدَ الْحَقِّ إِلا الضلال
١٠٣٧٧ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، ثنا أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ، ثنا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ قَالَ:
قُلْتُ لِمَالِكِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ: مَا تَرَى فِي رَجُلٍ أَمْرُهُ يَعْنِينِي قَالَ: لَيْسَ ذَلِكَ مِنَ الْحَقِّ قَالَ اللَّهُ:
فَمَاذَا بَعْدَ الْحَقِّ إِلا الضُّلالُ
قُرِئَ عَلَى يُونُسَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى وَمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ، أَنْبَأَ أَشْهَبُ قَالَ: سُئِلَ مَالِكٌ عن شهادة اللعاب بِالشَّطَرَنْجِ وَالنَّرْدِ أَتَرَى شَهَادَتَهُ جَائِزَةً؟ فَقَالَ: أَمَّا مَنْ أَتَى مِنْهَا فَمَا أَرَى شَهَادَتَهُمْ طَائِلَةً يَقُولُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ:
فَمَاذَا بَعْدَ الْحَقِّ إِلا الضُّلالُ فَهَذَا كُلُّهُ مِنَ الضَّلالِ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: فَأَنَّى تُصْرَفُونَ
١٠٣٧٨ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا مِنْجَابٌ، ثنا بِشْرٌ بْنُ عُمَارَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي رَوْقٍ، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: فأنى قَالَ كَيْفَ.
قَوْلِهِ: كَذَلِكَ حَقَّتْ كَلِمَةُ رَبِّكَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ فَسَقُوا
١٠٣٧٩ - وَبِهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: كَذَلِكَ حَقَّتْ كَلِمَةُ رَبِّكَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ فَسَقُوا يَقُولُ: سَبَقَتْ كَلِمَةُ رَبِّكَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: أَنَّهُمْ لا يُؤْمِنُونَ
١٠٣٨٠ - ذَكَرَ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ، ثنا الْحَجَّاجُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ كَثِيرٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قَوْلُهُ: لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ قَالَ: إِذَا جَاءَتْ بِخَبَرٍ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ.
قَوْلُهُ: هل من شركائكم من يبدؤا الْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُ
١٠٣٨١ - حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ، ثنا شَبَابَةُ، ثنا وَرْقَاءُ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قوله: يبدؤا الْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُ: يُحْيِيهِ ثُمَّ يُمِيتُهُ ثُمَّ يُبْدِيهِ ثُمَّ يُحْيِيهِ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: قُلِ اللَّهُ يبدؤا الخلق ثم يعيده فأنى تؤفكون
