Muhammad ibn Yahya told us, 'Abd al-A'la ibn Hammad al-Narsi told us, from Yazid ibn Zuray', from Sa'id, from Qatadah, regarding His saying: "The day, giving sight," meaning: Illuminating.

10471 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj told us, Yahya ibn Yaman told us, Sufyan, from Simak, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, regarding His saying: "Indeed, in that are signs," he said: "It is [like] a man who sends his signet ring to his family [as a proof]."
His saying, the Almighty: "They have said, 'Allah has taken a son.' Exalted is He!"
10472 - al-'Abbas ibn Yazid al-'Abdi told us, Yazid ibn Zuray' told us, from Sa'id ibn Abi 'Arubah, from Qatadah, regarding His saying: "'Allah has taken a son.' Exalted is He!" he said: "When they spoke a falsehood against Him, He exalted Himself."
10473 - al-Mundhir ibn Shadhan told us, Hawdhah told us, 'Awf told us, from Ghalib ibn 'Ujrah, a man from the people of al-Sham told us in the mosque of Mina, he said: "It has reached me that Allah created the earth and created what is in it of trees; there was not a tree on earth that the children of Adam would come to without them deriving a benefit from it. He said: They had a benefit in it, and the earth and the trees remained like that until some of the wicked among the children of Adam spoke that great word by saying: 'Allah has taken a son.' So when they spoke it, the earth shuddered and the trees became thorny."
