[His saying, the Almighty: "And make your houses a Qibla (direction for prayer)"]

[The First View]

10529 - Ahmad ibn Sinan told us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi told us, Sufyan told us, from Khusayf, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding: "And make your houses a Qibla," he said: Mosques. A similar report was narrated from Mujahid in some narrations, and from al-Rabi' ibn Anas and Zayd ibn Aslam.

10530 - Muhammad ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Yazid al-Muqri told us, Sufyan told us, from Mansur, from Ibrahim, regarding His saying: "And make your houses a Qibla," he said: They were fearful, so they were commanded to pray in their houses.

10531 - My father told us, Ibn Abi 'Umar told us, Sufyan told us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: "And make your houses a Qibla," he said: They would not pray except in the house when they feared the people of Pharaoh, so they were commanded to pray in their houses. Sufyan said: They were given what the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) was given, as they were refused the earth being made a mosque and a means of purification for them. A similar report was narrated from Abu Malik and Qatadah.

[The Second View]

10532 - My father told us, Sahl ibn 'Uthman told us, 'Ali ibn 'Amir told us, from 'Ata' ibn al-Sa'ib, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "And make your houses a Qibla," he said: Facing one another.

[The Third View]

10533 - My father told us, 'Abd Allah ibn Ja'far al-Duqi told us, Ibn al-Mubarak told us, from Ibn Abi Layla, from al-Minhal ibn 'Amr, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "And make your houses a Qibla," he said: Towards the Ka'bah. A similar report was narrated from Mujahid and al-Dahhak.

His saying, the Almighty: "And establish prayer."

10534 - 'Isam ibn Rawwad told us, Adam told us, Mubarak ibn Fadalah told us, from al-Hasan, regarding His saying: "And establish prayer," he said: A mandatory obligation; deeds are not accepted except by it and by Zakat. A similar report was narrated from 'Ata' and Qatadah.
