His saying: "from the way of Allah"
10783 - Abu Zur‘ah told us, Minjab ibn al-Harith told us, Bishr ibn ‘Umarah reported to us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn ‘Abbas, [regarding] His saying: "[Those who] avert [people] from the way of Allah," he said: "From the religion of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic."
His saying, the Exalted: "And they seek to make it crooked, and they, concerning the Hereafter, are disbelievers"
10784 - Abu Bakr ibn Abi Musa told us, Harun ibn Hatim told us, ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Hammad told us, from Asbat, from al-Suddi, from Ibn Malik, [regarding] His saying: "And they seek to make it crooked," meaning: They desire in Mecca [something] other than Islam as a religion.
10785 - Ahmad ibn ‘Uthman ibn Hakim told us, Ahmad ibn al-Mufaddal told us, Asbat told us, from al-Suddi, [regarding]: "And they seek to make it crooked": "When anyone asked them, 'Do you find Muhammad?' they would say, 'No,' thus averting people from him, and they sought for Muhammad to be crooked, [that is] destruction."
His saying, the Exalted: "And they, concerning the Hereafter, are disbelievers"
10786 - Muhammad ibn Yahya told us, al-‘Abbas told us, Yazid told us, Sa‘id told us, from Qatadah, [regarding] His saying: "And they, concerning the Hereafter, are disbelievers," he said: "They do not believe in it."
His saying, the Exalted: "They were not causing failure [to Allah] upon the earth," the verse.
10787 - Abu Zur‘ah told us, Minjab ibn al-Harith told us, Bishr ibn ‘Umarah told us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn ‘Abbas, regarding His saying: "causing failure [to Allah]," he said: "Outrunning [Allah]."
His saying, the Exalted: "The punishment will be doubled for them"
10788 - Muhammad ibn Yahya told us, al-‘Abbas told us, Yazid told us, he said: I heard Sa‘id, from Qatadah, [regarding] His saying: "The punishment will be doubled for them," meaning: the punishment of this world and the Hereafter.
His saying, the Exalted: "They were not able to hear"
10789 - My father told us, Hisham ibn Khalid told us, Shu‘ayb ibn Ishaq told us, Sa‘id ibn Abi ‘Arubah told us, from Qatadah, [regarding] His saying: "They were not able to hear," he says: "Deaf to the truth, so they do not hear it."
