His saying, the Exalted: "And a lasting torment will descend upon him."
10851 - Musa ibn Abi Musa al-Khatbi told us, Harun ibn Hatim told us, ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Hammad told us, Asbat told us, from al-Suddi, from Abu Malik, regarding His saying: "A lasting torment," meaning: everlasting, never ceasing.
10852 - Abu ‘Abd Allah al-Tahrani told us, Hafs al-‘Adani told us, al-Hakam ibn Aban told us, from ‘Ikrimah, regarding "And a lasting torment will descend upon him," he said: "Hell."
His saying, the Exalted: "Until when Our command came."
10853 - My father told us, ‘Uthman ibn Hafs ibn ‘Umar ibn Sulayman al-Dabbi al-Dhirā‘ told us, Salamah ibn ‘Alqamah told us, Dawud ibn Abi Hind told us, from Mutarrif ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn al-Shikhkhir regarding His saying: "Until when Our command came and the oven gushed over," he said: "It was a sign between him and his Lord: when you see the oven gushing with water, then carry within it of each [creature] a pair, two."
His saying, the Exalted: "And the oven gushed over."
[The First Aspect]
10854 - My father told us, Abu Salih told us, Mu‘awiyah ibn Salih told us, from ‘Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn ‘Abbas regarding His saying: "And the oven gushed over," he says: "Water gushed forth."
10855 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah told us, Shababah told us, Warqa’ told us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid regarding His saying: "And the oven gushed over," [meaning] water [gushed] from it.
10856 - My father told us, ‘Abd Allah ibn Raja’ told us, Isra’il told us, from Muslim, from Muhammad ibn ‘Ali, who said: "The oven gushed over at the Mosque of Kufa, at the side of the gates of Kindah." It has been narrated from Hudhayfah, al-Sha‘bi, and Mujahid similarly, and it has been narrated from ‘Ali.
The Second Aspect:
10857 - My father told us, ‘Amr al-Naqid told us, Muhammad ibn Muhammad ibn Fudayl ibn Ghazwan told us, ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Ishaq told us, from Ziyad the freed slave of Abi Juhayfah, from Abi Juhayfah, from ‘Ali, regarding His saying: "Until when Our command came and the oven gushed over," he said: "The illumination of the morning."
