10897 - My father told us, 'Abd al-Hamid al-Ma'ni told us, Abu Zayd 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mus'ab al-Ma'ni told us, from Sufyan, from Layth, from Mujahid, who said: "Every prophet is the father of his nation."

10898 - 'Ali ibn al-Hasan told us, Abu al-Jumahir told us, Sa'id told us, he said, from Qatadah: "The name of Noah's son who drowned was Kan'an."

His saying, the Exalted: "O my son, embark with us and be not with the disbelievers."

10899 - 'Abd Allah ibn Sulayman told us, al-Husayn ibn 'Ali told us, 'Amir ibn al-Furat told us, Asbat told us, from al-Saddi, regarding His saying: "O my son, embark with us and be not with the disbelievers," he said: "Noah called the boy, and he had been born upon his bed, and Noah had thought that he was his son. So Noah called him, 'O my son, embark with us and be not with the disbelievers,' and Noah did not know [anything] but that he was his son, yet he was his child and he was a disbeliever."

His saying, the Exalted: "He said: I will betake myself to a mountain that will save me from the water."

10900 - My father told us, 'Ubayd ibn Adam told us, my father told us, Abu Shaybah told us, from 'Ata' al-Khurasani, regarding His saying: "I will betake myself to a mountain that will save me from the water," he says: "The mountain will save me."

10901 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn told us, Muhammad ibn 'Isa told us, Salamah told us, from Ibn Ishaq: "When that happened, he thought that would be [the case]," regarding His saying, the Exalted: "There is no protector today from the command of Allah, except whom He gives mercy."

10902 - Abu 'Abd Allah al-Tabarani told us, Hafs ibn 'Umar al-'Adani told us, from al-Hakam ibn Aban, from 'Ikrimah, regarding His saying: "There is no protector today from the command of Allah, except whom He gives mercy," he said: "There is no one to be saved except the people of the ship."

10903 - 'Abd Allah ibn Sulayman told us, al-Husayn ibn 'Ali told us, 'Amir ibn al-Furat told us, from Asbat, from al-Saddi: "'I will betake myself to a mountain that will save me from the water,' so Noah said: 'There is no protector today from the command of Allah, except whom He gives mercy,' then Allah opened the heaven upon him."

His saying, the Exalted: "And the waves came between them."

10904 - My father told us, Sulayman ibn 'Abd al-Jabbar told us, Abu 'Asim told us, from al-Muthanna ibn al-Sabbah, from al-Qasim ibn Abi Murrah, regarding: "And the waves came between them," he said: "Between Noah and the mountain."
