10912 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah told us, Shababah told us, Warqa' told us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: "And the water subsided," meaning: It decreased. It was narrated from 'Ata' al-Khurasani similarly.

His saying, the Exalted: "And the matter was decreed."

10913 - And through this chain, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: "And the matter was decreed," he said: The people of Noah perished.

His saying, the Exalted: "And it settled upon al-Judi."

10914 - Abu Zur'ah told us, Safwan told us, al-Walid told us, Khulayd told us, from Qatadah, regarding His saying: "And it settled upon al-Judi," meaning: It rested upon al-Judi for a month.

His saying, the Exalted: "al-Judi."

10915 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah told us, Shababah told us, Warqa' told us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding "And it settled upon al-Judi," he said: "al-Judi: A mountain in al-Jazirah. The mountains stood tall on that day out of [fear of] the drowning and grew high, while it humbled itself to Allah, so it did not drown, and Noah’s ship landed upon it."

10916 - My father told us, Hisham ibn Khalid told us, Shu'ayb told us, Ibn Abi 'Arubah told us, from Qatadah, regarding "And it settled upon al-Judi," [he said]: Allah preserved it from the land of al-Jazirah. They would pass by it until the earliest people saw it [as a sign]. [He recited] the verse: "And how many a ship existed after them, and perished after them, and became a symbol."

10917 - My father told us, Mahmud ibn Khalid told us, al-Walid told us, Ibn Jabir and 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Thabit ibn Thawban told me, from 'Umar ibn Hani' al-'Isa, that he informed him that some elders from 'Abs told him that when they were at Siffin, they came to al-Judi to look at the location of the ship upon it.

10918 - Abu al-Azhar Ahmad ibn al-Azhar reported to us in what he wrote to me, Wahb ibn Jarir told us, my father told us, from 'Ali ibn al-Hakam, from al-Dahhak: As for His saying: "al-Judi," it is a mountain in Mosul.

10919 - 'Ammar told us, Sahl ibn Bakkar and Sulayman ibn Harb told us, they said: Abu Dawud ibn al-Furat told us, from 'Ali ibn Ahmar, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas, who said: "There were eighty men with Noah on the ship, along with their families. They were on the ship for one hundred and fifty days. Allah directed the ship to Makkah, and it circled the House (the Ka'bah) for forty days. Then Allah directed it to al-Judi, and it settled upon it. Noah sent the crow to bring him news of the earth, but it went and landed on carcasses, so it was delayed for him.
