10978 - 'Abd Allah ibn Sulayman told us, al-Husayn ibn 'Ali told us, 'Amir ibn al-Furat told us, from Asbat, from al-Suddi, regarding His saying: "the command of every obstinate tyrant," he said: The defiant one.
His saying, the Exalted: "And they were followed in this world with a curse."
10979 - And through the same chain to al-Suddi, regarding His saying: "And they were followed in this world with a curse," he said: "And We caused them to be followed in this world by a curse"; no prophet was sent after 'Ad but that 'Ad was cursed upon his tongue.
His saying, the Exalted: "And to Thamud, their brother Salih."
10980 - Salamah ibn 'Ali informed us, from Sa'id ibn Bashir, from Qatadah, that Salih was sent from al-Hijr.
His saying, the Exalted: "He brought you into being from the earth."
10981 - 'Abd Allah told us, al-Husayn told us, 'Abbas told us, Asbat told us, from al-Suddi: "Brought you into being from the earth," meaning: He created you from the earth.
His saying, the Exalted: "And settled you in it."
10982 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah told us, Shababah told us, Warqa' told us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: "And settled you in it," he said: He caused you to inhabit it.
10983 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us in what he wrote to me, Asbagh ibn al-Faraj told us, he said: I heard 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam regarding "And settled you in it," he said: He made you successors in it.
His saying, the Exalted: "So ask forgiveness of Him, then repent to Him."
Its interpretation has preceded.
His saying, the Exalted: "They said, 'O Salih, you were among us a hope before this.'"
10984 - My father told us, Hisham ibn Khalid told us, Shu'ayb ibn Ishaq told us, Sa'id ibn Abi 'Arubah told us, from Qatadah, regarding His saying: "And indeed we are in doubt concerning that to which you invite us, disquieting," he said: They lied. By Allah, there is no doubt in Allah concerning the One who originated the heaven and the earth, and sent down rain from the sky, and brought forth with it fruits as provision for you, and displayed to you of the signs and the manifest blessings that which leaves no room for doubt regarding Allah.
١٠٩٧٨ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ثنا عَامِرِ بْنِ الْفُرَاتِ، عَنْ أَسْبَاطٍ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ، قَوْلُهُ: أَمْرَ كُلِّ جَبَّارٍ عَنِيدٍ قَالَ: الْمُشَاقُ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَأُتْبِعُوا فِي هَذِهِ الدُّنْيَا لَعْنَةً
١٠٩٧٩ - وَبِهِ إِلَى السُّدِّيِّ، قَوْلُهُ: وَأُتْبِعُوا فِي هَذِهِ الدُّنْيَا لَعْنَةً قَالَ وَأَتْبَعْنَاهُمْ فِي هَذِهِ لَعْنَةً لَمْ يُبْعَثْ نَبِيٌّ بَعْدَ عادا إِلَّا لُعِنَتْ عَادٌ عَلَى لِسَانِهِ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَإِلَى ثَمُودَ أَخَاهُمْ صَالِحًا
١٠٩٨٠ - أَخْبَرَنَا سَلَمَةُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ، بْنِ بَشِيرٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، أَنَّ صَالِحًا بُعِثَ مِنَ الْحِجْرِ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: هُوَ أَنْشَأَكُمْ مِنَ الأَرْضِ
١٠٩٨١ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ، ثنا عَبَّاسٌ، ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ، أَنْشَأَكُمْ مِنَ الأَرْضِ يَقُولُ: خَلَقَكُمْ مِنَ الأَرْضِ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَاسْتَعْمَرَكُمْ فِيهَا
١٠٩٨٢ - حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ، ثنا شَبَابَةُ، ثنا وَرْقَاءُ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، قَوْلُهُ: وَاسْتَعْمَرَكُمْ فِيهَا قَالَ: أَعْمَرَكُمْ فِيهَا.
١٠٩٨٣ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ، ثنا أَصْبَغُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ قَالَ:
سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ وَاسْتَعْمَرَكُمْ فِيهَا قَالَ: اسْتَخْلَفَكُمْ فِيهَا.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: فَاسْتَغْفِرُوهُ ثُمَّ توبوا إليه
تَقَدَّمَ تَفْسِيرُهُ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: قَالُوا يَا صَالِحُ قَدْ كُنْتَ فِينَا مَرْجُوًا قَبْلَ هذا
١٠٩٨٤ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، ثنا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، ثنا سَعِيدُ، بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، قَوْلُهُ: وَإِنَنَا لَفِي شَكٍّ مِمَّا تَدْعُونَا إِلَيْهِ مُرِيبٍ وَكَذَبُوا وَاللَّهِ مَا فِي اللَّهِ شَكٌّ فِي مَنْ فَطَرَ السَّمَاءِ وَالأَرْضِ وَأَنزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَاء مَاء فَأَخْرَجَ بِهِ مِنَ الثَّمَرَاتِ رِزْقًا لَكُمْ وَأَظْهَرَ لَكُمْ مِنَ الآلاءِ وَالنِّعَمِ الْمُتَظَاهِرَةِ مَا لَا يُشَكُّ فِي اللَّهِ.
