His saying, the Exalted: "He was distressed by them."
11053 - My father told us, Abu Salih told me, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih told me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "He was distressed by them," he says: He had a bad opinion of his people.
11054 - My father told us, al-Hasan ibn 'Amr ibn Shaqiq al-Hazrami told us, Ja'far ibn Sulayman told us, from Abu 'Imran al-Jawni, from 'Abd Allah ibn Rabah, from Ka'b regarding "He was distressed by them and felt himself straitened for them," he said: Their situation was bad due to what he saw of their condition.
His saying, the Exalted: "And felt himself straitened for them."
11055 - My father told us, Abu Salih told me, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih told me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "And felt himself straitened for them," he says: He felt straitened for his guests.
His saying, the Exalted: "And said, 'This is a distressing day.'"
11056 - And by way of him from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "And said, 'This is a distressing day,'" he says: A severe day.
It was narrated from al-Suddi and Qatadah the same.
11057 - My father told us, al-Hasan ibn 'Amr ibn Shaqiq told us, Ja'far told us, and regarding "And said, 'This is a distressing day,'" he said: A day that is evil for my people.
11058 - al-Hasan told us, from Zayd ibn al-Hubab, from Musa ibn 'Ubaydah, from Muhammad ibn Ka'b al-Qurazi regarding "And said, 'This is a distressing day,'" he said: Its evil will bind (ta'sibu) [the people].
His saying, the Exalted: "And his people came rushing toward him."
11059 - Abu Zur'ah told us, Minjab ibn al-Harith told us, Bishr ibn 'Umarah told us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "rushing toward him," he said: They are hastening toward him.
11060 - My father told us, Abu Salih told me, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih told me, from 'Ali ibn Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "rushing toward him," he says: Moving fast. It was narrated from al-Suddi the same.
