10507 - My father narrated to us, 'Abdah ibn Sulayman narrated to us, Ibn al-Mubarak informed us, Abu Ma'shar informed us, from Muhammad ibn Ka'b or from Sa'id regarding His saying: "And you have enjoyed your portion," the verse. He said: "The portion (al-khalaq): is the religion."
10508 - My father narrated to us, 'Abdah narrated to us, Ibn al-Mubarak narrated to us, from Sharik, from Layth, from Mujahid, a similar account.
His saying, the Almighty: "As those before you enjoyed their portion."
10509 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Minjab ibn al-Harith narrated to us, Bishr ibn 'Umarah informed us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "Their portion," he said: "With their religion."
His saying, the Almighty: "And you have engaged in vain talk as they engaged in it."
10500 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us, in what he wrote to me, Asbagh ibn al-Faraj informed us, he said: I heard 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam saying, regarding the saying of Allah: "And you have engaged in vain talk as they engaged in it," he said: "The vain talk (al-khawd) is what they speak of falsehood, and what they engage in regarding the matter of Allah and His messengers, and their denial of them."
His saying, the Almighty: "Those are they whose deeds have become worthless," the verse.
10501 - Abu Bakr ibn Abi Musa narrated to us, Harun ibn Hatim narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Hammad narrated to us, from Asbat, from al-Suddi, from Abu Malik regarding His saying: "Their deeds have become worthless," he says: "Their deeds have become invalid."
His saying, the Almighty: "Has the news of those before them not reached them?"
10502 - Ibn Abi Aslam mentioned it, Ishaq ibn Rahawayh narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Yazid al-Wasiti informed us, Juwaybir narrated to us, from al-Dahhak regarding His saying—from what the hypocrites are rebuked with: "Has the news of those before them not reached them?" the verse.
His saying, the Almighty: "The people of Noah."
10503 - Yunus ibn 'Abd al-A'la informed us, by recitation, Ibn Wahb informed us, Maslamah ibn 'Ulay narrated to us, from Sa'id ibn Bashir, from Qatadah: That Noah was sent from the Jazirah (the Arabian Peninsula).
