When they drew near, He blinded their eyes, so they departed, climbing over one another, until they went out to those at the door and said: "We have come to you from the most sorcerous of people; our eyes were blinded." He said: So they departed, climbing over one another, until they entered the city. It was in the dead of night, and it was lifted up until they could hear the sound of birds in the atmosphere of the sky, then it was overturned upon them. Whoever was struck by the overthrow (al-I'tifakah) was destroyed. He said: And whoever escaped from it, a stone followed him wherever he was and killed him. He said: And Lot left it with his daughters, and they were three. When he reached a place in the Levant, the eldest died, so he buried her, and a spring appeared beside her called 'Ayn al-Dibah. He said: I heard Ibn 'Abbas say: Rabathan. He said: Then he set off until he reached another place, the youngest died and he buried her, and a spring appeared beside her called: al-Zaghritah. He said: I heard Ibn 'Abbas say: Zaghutam. He said: And none remained except the middle one.

10203 - My father narrated to us, Ibn Abi 'Umar narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us from al-Hudhayli regarding His saying: "The overturned ones (al-Mu'tafikat)," he said: They are four: the overturned ones: Daduma, Sadum, 'Amura, and Sabuma.

His saying, the Almighty: "Their messengers came to them with clear proofs."

10222 - I read to Muhammad ibn al-Fadl, Muhammad ibn 'Ali narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Muzahim narrated to us, Bukayr ibn Ma'ruf narrated to us, from Muqatil ibn Hayyan regarding His saying: "With clear proofs (al-Bayyinat)," he means: The clear proofs, what Allah sent down of the lawful and the prohibited.

His saying, the Almighty: "So Allah would not wrong them, but it was they who were wronging themselves."

10222 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Minjab narrated to us, Bishr reported to us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "Wronging (yazlimun)," he said: They were harming themselves.

His saying, the Almighty: "The believing men and believing women are allies of one another."

10222 - Mahmud ibn Adam informed us, in what he wrote to me, he said: I heard al-Nadr ibn Shumayl saying: The interpretation of the believer (al-Mu'min) is: That he is safe (amin) from the punishment of Allah.

10222 - Ahmad ibn Sinan narrated to us, 'Ali ibn Bahr narrated to us, Jarir narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Musa ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Yazid, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Hilal al-'Absi, from Jarir ibn 'Abd Allah.
