12293 - From Qatadah, regarding "in a valley not having any cultivation," he said: Makkah. It did not have any cultivation at that time (1).

From Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding His saying: "Our Lord, I have settled some of my descendants in an uncultivated valley near Your sacred House," and it is a House that Allah has purified from evil, made a Qiblah, and made a Sanctuary. The Prophet of Allah, Ibrahim (peace be upon him), chose it for his offspring (2).

Therefore, there is no believer but that his heart is attached with love to the Ka'bah (4).

Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: If Ibrahim (peace be upon him) had said, when he prayed, "Make the hearts of the people incline toward them," the Jews and the Christians would have crowded into it. But he specified when he said: "hearts among the people," and He made that the hearts of the believers (5).

His saying, the Almighty: "Our Lord, indeed You know what we conceal."

12296 - From Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) regarding His saying: "Our Lord, indeed You know what we conceal" of love for Isma'il and his mother, "and what we declare," he said: And what we show of sorrow for them (6).

His saying, the Almighty: "Praise to Allah, who has granted to me in old age Isma'il and Isaac."

12297 - From Ibn Abbas regarding His saying: "Praise to Allah, who has granted to me in old age Isma'il and Isaac," he said: This was some time after that (7).

12298 - From al-Sha'bi (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: It would not please me to exchange my share of the supplication of Nuh and Ibrahim for the believers, both men and women, for the best of camels (red camels) (8).
