without anything being diminished from their burdens. And whoever calls to guidance and is followed, he shall have the like of their rewards without anything being diminished from their rewards" (1).

His saying: "The likes of whom have plotted before them, so Allah came upon their building from the foundations."

12508 - From Qatadah regarding His saying: "The likes of whom have plotted before them, so Allah came upon their building from the foundations," he said: The command of Allah came to it from its base, so the roof fell upon them from above them. The "roof" is the high point of the houses. Thus, their houses collapsed upon them, so Allah destroyed and ruined them, and the punishment came upon them from where they did not perceive (2).

His saying: "You dispute over them."

12509 - By way of Ali, from Ibn Abbas regarding His saying: "You dispute over them," he says: You oppose me (3).

His saying: "And it was said to those who feared Allah, 'What has your Lord sent down?' They said, 'Good.' For those who do good..."

12510 - From Qatadah regarding His saying: "And it was said to those who feared Allah," he said: These are the believers. It is said to them: "What has your Lord sent down?" And they say: "Good." For those who do good, meaning those who believed in Allah and His Books, and were commanded to obey Him, and urged the servants of Allah toward good and called them to it (4).

His saying: "Those whom the angels take in death while they are pure."

12511 - From Mujahid regarding His saying: "Those whom the angels take in death while they are pure," he said: [They are] alive and dead; Allah has destined that for them (5).

12512 - From Muhammad ibn Ka'b al-Qurazi, he said: When the soul of the believing servant is at peace, the angel comes to him and says: "Peace be upon you, O ally of Allah; Allah greets you with peace." Then he recited this verse: "Those whom the angels take in death while they are pure, saying: 'Peace be upon you'" (6).
