12533 - From Abu Salih regarding His saying: "And to Him is the religion (din) perpetually (wasiban)," he said: There is no god but Allah (1).
12534 - From Ibn Abbas regarding His saying: "And to Him is the religion (din) perpetually (wasiban)," he said: Always (2).
12535 - From al-Hasan regarding the verse, he said: Indeed, this religion is a perpetual religion... it occupied people and stood between them and many of their desires, so none can uphold it except those who know its virtue and hope for its consequence (3).
12535 - From Mujahid regarding His saying: "Then to Him you cry for help (taj'arun)," he said: You implore [Him] in supplication (4).
12536 - From al-Suddi regarding His saying: "Then to Him you cry for help (taj'arun)," he says: You clamor in supplication (5).
12537 - From Qatadah regarding His saying: "Then when He removes the adversity from you..." the verse, he said: All of creation acknowledges to Allah that He is their Lord, then they associate others with Him after that (6).
12538 - From al-Hasan regarding His saying: "So enjoy yourselves, for you are going to know," he said: It is a threat (7).
12539 - From Qatadah regarding His saying: "And they appoint for what they do not know a portion," he said: They are the polytheists of the Arabs; they assigned to their idols and their devils a portion of what Allah had provided them, and they set aside a share of their wealth and designated it for their idols and their devils (8).
12540 - From al-Suddi regarding His saying: "And they appoint for what they do not know a portion of what We have provided them," it is their saying: "This is for Allah," in their claim, "and this is for our partners" (9).
12541 - From Ibn Abbas regarding His saying: "And they attribute to Allah the daughters..." the verses. He says: They attribute daughters to Him, and they are pleased with them for Him, but they are not pleased with them for themselves. This is because, in the Era of Ignorance (Jahiliyyah), if a daughter was born to one of them, he would keep her in humiliation or bury her in the dust while she was alive (10).
12542 - From al-Dahhak regarding His saying: "And for them is what they desire," he said: He means by it sons (11).
12543 - From Qatadah regarding His saying: "And when one of them is informed of [the birth of] a female, his face becomes dark, and he suppresses grief," he said: This is the conduct of the polytheists of the Arabs; Allah informed them of the vileness of their conduct. As for the believer...
