His saying, the Almighty: "We will increase them in punishment over [and above] the punishment"
12627 - From Ibn Mas'ud regarding His saying: "We will increase them in punishment over [and above] the punishment," he said: They will be increased with scorpions that have fangs like tall palm trees.
12628 - From al-Suddi regarding the verse, he said: When the people of the Fire become distressed by its heat, they will seek aid from the shallow places in the Fire. When they reach them, they will be met by scorpions like massive black mules and vipers like Bactrian camels, which will strike them; that is the increase.
12629 - From 'Ubayd ibn 'Umayr, he said: Indeed, in Hell there are pits in which there are snakes like Bactrian camels and scorpions like mules. The people of the Fire will seek aid from those pits to the edges, and they (the creatures) will spring upon them and seize their foreheads and lips, stripping their flesh down to their feet. They will then seek aid from them back to the Fire, and they will follow them until they feel its heat, then they will return, remaining in the pits.
12630 - From the path of al-A'mash, from Malik ibn al-Harith, he said: When a man is cast into the Fire, he will plunge into it. When he reaches one of its gates, it will be said: "Stay in your place until you are entertained." He will be given a cup of the poison of black snakes and scorpions, and his skin will separate, as will his hair, his nerves, and his veins.
12631 - From Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "We will increase them in punishment over [and above] the punishment," he said: Five rivers of fire that Allah will pour upon them; they will be punished with some of them by night and with some of them by day.
His saying, the Almighty: "And We have sent down to you the Book as clarification for all things"
12632 - From Ibn Mas'ud, he said: Indeed, Allah sent down in this Book a clarification for all things, and we have learned some of what was clarified for us in the Qur'an. Then he recited: "And We have sent down to you the Book as clarification for all things," and said: It refers to the Sunnah.
12633 - From Ibn 'Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, he said: While the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, was sitting in the courtyard of his house, 'Uthman ibn Maz'un, may Allah be pleased with him, passed by and sat with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. While he was speaking to him, his gaze became fixed towards the sky. He looked at the sky for a moment, then began to lower his gaze until he placed it on his right on the ground, and the Messenger of Allah
