12660 - From Mujahid regarding His saying: "And We certainly know that they say, 'It is only a human being who teaches him.'" He said: The statement of Quraysh, "It is only a human being who teaches Muhammad," [referring to] Ibn al-Hadrami. He was a possessor of books. "The tongue of the one they refer to is foreign, while this is a clear Arabic language."

12661 - From Qatadah, he said: They say, "It is only a human being who teaches Muhammad," [referring to] 'Abdah ibn al-Hadrami, who used to be called Muqays.

12663 - From al-Dahhak regarding the verse, he said: They used to say, "It is only Salman the Persian who teaches him," and Allah revealed, "The tongue of the one they refer to is foreign."

He was a Christian who had read the Torah and the Gospel, so he would ask him and converse with him. When the polytheists saw him entering upon him, they said, "Abu Yusr teaches him." Allah said: "This is a clear Arabic language," and the language of Abu Yusr is foreign.

His saying, the Almighty: "It is only those who do not believe in the verses of Allah who fabricate the lie."

12665 - From Mu'awiyah ibn Salih, he said: Lying was mentioned in the presence of Abu Umamah, so he said: "O Allah, forgiveness! Do you not hear Allah saying: 'It is only those who do not believe in the verses of Allah who fabricate the lie, and it is they who are the liars.'"

12666 - From Ibn 'Abbas, he said: "When the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, intended...
