The Saying of the Exalted: "We will restore it to its former state."

13419 - From Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both): "We will restore it to its former state." He said: "Its former condition."

13420 - From Mujahid regarding His saying: "We will restore it to its former state." He said: "Its former appearance." And: "And draw your hand to your side." He said: "Insert your palm under your upper arm." "...it will come out white without disease." He said: "Without leprosy."

The Saying of the Exalted: "...that We may show you some of Our greatest signs."

13421 - From al-Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: "He brought it out as if it were a lamp, so Moses knew that he had met his Lord. Therefore, He, the Exalted, said: '...that We may show you some of Our greatest signs.'"

The Saying of the Exalted: "And loosen the knot from my tongue."

13422 - From Sa'id ibn Jubayr (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding His saying: "And loosen the knot from my tongue." He said: "It is the impediment from a glowing coal he put in his mouth, due to the affair of Pharaoh's wife when she defended him against Pharaoh's punishment when Moses seized his beard while he did not understand. He said: 'This is an enemy of mine,' so his wife said: 'He does not understand.'"

13423 - From 'Amr ibn 'Uthman, from Baqiyyah, from Arta'ah ibn al-Mundhir, who said: Some of the companions of Muhammad ibn Ka'b narrated to me from him, saying: A relative of his came to him and said to him: 'There is no harm in you, were it not that you make grammatical errors in your speech and you do not speak clearly in your recitation.' The Qurazi said: 'O son of my brother, do I not make you understand when I speak to you?' He said: 'Yes.' He said: 'Indeed, Moses (peace be upon him) only asked his Lord to loosen a knot from his tongue so that the Children of Israel could understand his speech, and he did not ask for more than that.'

The Saying of the Exalted: "Strengthen my back with him."

13424 - From 'Atiyyah regarding His saying: "Strengthen my back with him." He said: "My strength (lit. back)."

13425 - From Ibn Zayd regarding His saying: "Strengthen my back with him." He says: "Strengthen my affair and my power through him, for I have strength through him."
