13444 - From al-Hasan regarding "And speak to him with gentle speech," he said: "Make an excuse to him and say to him: 'Verily, you have a Lord and you have a return (to Him), and before you lie Paradise and Hellfire.'"
13445 - From al-Fadl ibn 'Isa al-Raqashi that he recited this verse: "And speak to him with gentle speech," and he said: "O He who shows affection to one who shows enmity towards Him, so how (must He be) with one who turns to Him and calls upon Him?"
The Saying of the Exalted: "Perhaps he might remember."
13446 - From Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "Perhaps he might remember," he said: "Will he remember?"
The Saying of the Exalted: "We fear that he will hasten against us."
13447 - We were told by Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "We fear that he will hasten against us," he said: "He will hasten." Or "that he will transgress," he said: "He will act aggressively."
13448 - We were told by Mujahid (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding His saying: "We fear that he will hasten against us or that he will transgress," he said: "A punishment from him."
The Saying of the Exalted: "Verily, it has been revealed to us that the punishment is upon whoever denies and turns away."
13449 - We were told by Qatadah regarding His saying: "Verily, it has been revealed to us that the punishment is upon whoever denies and turns away," he said: "Whoever denies the Book of Allah and turns away from the obedience of Allah."
The Saying of the Exalted: "He who gave everything its creation."
13450 - We were told by Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "He who gave everything its creation," he said: "He created a mate for every thing." Then "and then guided (it)," he said: "He guided it to its mate, its food, its drink, and its dwelling."
The Saying of the Exalted: "Then He guided."
13451 - We were told by Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "Gave everything its creation," he says: "Its like; He gave the human a female human, the donkey a female donkey, and the sheep its ewe, then He guided (them) to intercourse."
13452 - We were told by Mujahid (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding His saying: "Gave everything its creation, then guided (it)," he said: "He perfected the creation of every beast, then guided it to what suits it and taught it (that knowledge); He did not make the creation of humans like the creation of beasts, nor the creation of beasts like the creation of humans, but He created everything and determined it with a measurement."
