The Saying of the Exalted: "And He will leave it a level plain."
13526 - From Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "A level plain," he said: Smooth. "Safsafa" (a level plain), he said: Containing no vegetation. "You will not see therein any crookedness"—he said: A valley—"nor any unevenness"—he said: A hill.
13527 - From 'Ikrimah that he was asked regarding His saying: "A level plain, you will not see therein any crookedness nor any unevenness," he said: Ibn 'Abbas used to say: It is smooth land that has neither a raised hill nor a depression.
The Saying of the Exalted: "You will not see therein any crookedness."
13528 - From Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "You will not see therein any crookedness," he said: Inclination. "Nor any unevenness," he said: The "amt" is a trace like a shoelace.
13529 - From al-Dahhak in the verse, he said: "'Iwaj" (crookedness): elevation; and "amt" (unevenness): flat expanse.
The Saying of the Exalted: "On that Day they will follow the Caller; there is no crookedness [in] him."
13530 - From Muhammad ibn Ka'b al-Qurazi, he said: Allah will gather the people on the Day of Resurrection in darkness; the heaven will be folded, the stars will be scattered, and the sun and moon will disappear. A crier will call out, and the people will hear the voice and come to it. That is the saying of Allah: "On that Day they will follow the Caller; there is no crookedness [in] him." He said: No deviation from him.
13531 - From Qatada regarding His saying: "There is no crookedness [in] him," they will not deviate from him.
The Saying of the Exalted: "So you will not hear except a whisper."
13532 - From Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "So you will not hear except a whisper," he said: The faint sound.
13533 - From Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "So you will not hear except a whisper," he said: The sound of footsteps.
