الترجمة · EN

His saying, the Almighty: "He said, 'Rather, your souls have enticed you to something.'"

11870 - My father narrated to us, Hisham ibn Khalid narrated to us, Shu‘ayb ibn Ishaq narrated to us, Sa‘id ibn Abi ‘Arubah narrated to us, from Qatadah, regarding His saying: "Rather, your souls have enticed you to something," meaning: Your souls have beautified a matter for you.

11871 - Muhammad ibn al-‘Abbas narrated to us, ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Salamah narrated to us, Salamah narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq, he said: When they came to Ya‘qub, he suspected them and surmised that it was like their action regarding Yusuf. Then he said: "Rather, your souls have enticed you to something, so patience is most fitting."

His saying, the Almighty: "So patience is most fitting."

11872 - ‘Abd Allah narrated to us, al-Husayn narrated to us, ‘Amir narrated to us, from Asbat, from al-Suddi, he said: The group went to Ya‘qub and informed him of the news. He wept and said: "O my sons, you never depart without decreasing [in number] by one; you went and lost Yusuf, then you went a second time and lost Sham‘un, then you went a third time and lost Binyamin and Rubil. So patience is most fitting; perhaps Allah will bring them all to me."

His saying, the Almighty: "Perhaps Allah will bring them all to me."

11873 - ‘Ali ibn al-Hasan narrated to us, Abu al-Jumahir narrated to us, Sa‘id ibn Bashir informed us, from Qatadah, regarding His saying: "Perhaps Allah will bring them all to me," meaning: Yusuf, his brother, and Rubil.

11874 - ‘Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Muhammad ibn ‘Isa narrated to us, Salamah narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq: "Perhaps Allah will bring them all to me," meaning Yusuf, his brother, and Rubil.

His saying, the Almighty: "Indeed, it is He who is the Knowing, the Wise."

This has been interpreted previously.

11875 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, Abu Ghassan narrated to us, Salamah narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Ishaq said: Muhammad ibn Ja‘far ibn al-Zubayr narrated to me, regarding His saying: "The Wise" [al-Hakim], he said: The Wise in His excuse and His argument toward His servants.

His saying, the Almighty: "And he turned away from them."

11876 - ‘Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Muhammad ibn ‘Isa narrated to us, Salamah narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq:
