Salih, from Abu Bakr al-Hudhali, who said: I asked al-Hasan about "So satisfy for us the measure and be charitable to us," and he said: By [compensating for] the deficiency of our dirhams. Then I asked Sa‘id ibn Jubayr, and he said: The prophets do not consume charity; it was rejected [goods] that were not permissible among them, so he said: Permit it for us.
11933 - It is mentioned from ‘Amr ibn Muhammad al-‘Anqazi, Asbat informed us, from al-Suddi regarding: "And be charitable to us," [meaning] by [waiving] the difference between the good [dirhams] and the inferior ones.
His saying, the Almighty: "Indeed, Allah rewards the charitable."

He replied: Woe to you, indeed Allah does not give charity, but rather Allah rewards the charitable.

Then he revealed to them what he had been hiding from them, saying: "Do you know what you did with Yusuf and his brother when you were ignorant?"
The Almighty said: "They said, 'Are you indeed Yusuf?' He said, 'I am Yusuf, and this is my brother. Allah has certainly favored us.'"
11938 - My father narrated to us, Ahmad ibn Ibrahim al-Dawraqi narrated to us, al-‘Ala’ ibn ‘Abd al-Jabbar narrated to us, Yazid ibn Yazid narrated to us, from Thabit al-Bunani, who said: It was said to the sons of Ya‘qub: There is a man in Egypt who feeds the needy and fills the lap of the orphan. They said: This must be from us, the people of the house. So they looked, and behold, it was Yusuf ibn Ya‘qub.
