His saying: "That you might succeed."
14440 - Yunus ibn 'Abd al-A'la narrated to us, [saying]: Ibn Wahb informed us, [saying]: Abu Sakhr al-Madini informed us, from Muhammad ibn Ka'b al-Qurazi, that he used to say regarding this verse "That you might succeed," he says: "That you might succeed tomorrow when you meet Me."
His saying: "And marry the unmarried among you."
14441 - My father narrated to us, [saying]: Abu Salih reported, [who said]: Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding his saying: "And marry the unmarried [al-ayami]," he said: Allah, Glorified is He, commanded marriage and encouraged them to do it.
His saying: "The unmarried [al-ayami] among you."
14442 - By the same chain from Ibn 'Abbas: "And marry the unmarried [al-ayami] among you," he said: Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, commanded them to marry off their free persons and their slaves, and promised them wealth in that, saying: "If they should be poor, Allah will enrich them from His bounty."
14443 - I read to Muhammad ibn al-Fadl, [who said]: Muhammad ibn 'Ali reported, [who said]: Muhammad ibn Muzahim reported, [who said]: Bukayr ibn Ma'ruf reported, from Muqatil ibn Hayyan, regarding his saying: "And marry the unmarried among you," meaning the unmarried among the men and women of the free people.
14444 - My father narrated to us, [saying]: 'Isam ibn Rawwad reported, [who said]: My father reported, [who said]: Abu Ja'far al-Razi reported, from Qatadah, from Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib, regarding the saying of Allah: "And marry the unmarried among you," he said: This verse abrogated the one in [Surat] al-Nur: "The fornicator does not marry except a fornicatress or polytheist."
His saying: "And the righteous among your slaves."
14445 - My father narrated to us, [saying]: Abu Salih reported, [who said]: Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding his saying: "And marry the unmarried among you and the righteous among your slaves," he said: Allah, Glorified is He, commanded marriage and encouraged them to do it, and commanded them to marry off their free persons and their slaves. It was narrated from al-Suddi and Muqatil ibn Hayyan similarly.
His saying, the Exalted: "And your female slaves."
14446 - I read to Muhammad ibn al-Fadl, [who said]: Muhammad ibn 'Ali reported, [who said]: Muhammad ibn Muzahim reported, [who said]: Bukayr ibn Ma'ruf reported, from Muqatil ibn Hayyan, regarding his saying: "And your female slaves," meaning the male slaves and the female slaves. It was narrated from al-Suddi similarly.
