His saying: "And the Satan is..."
15112 - My father narrated to us, al-Nufayli reported to us, Muhammad ibn Salamah reported to us, from Khusayf: The Satan is Iblis.
His saying: "...to man..."
15113 - Muhammad ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn Yazid al-Muqri' narrated to us, Sufyan reported to us, from Ibrahim ibn Nafi‘, from Qays ibn Sa‘d, from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn ‘Abbas who said: Allah created Adam in the last hours of the day on Friday, then He took a covenant from him and he forgot, so he was named "Insan" (man).
His saying: "...ever a deserter."
15114 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-‘Abbas ibn al-Walid al-Narsi informed us, Yazid ibn Zuray‘ reported to us, Sa‘id reported to us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "And the Satan is ever a deserter to man," meaning he will desert him on the Day of Resurrection and disavow him.
15115 - ‘Abd Allah ibn Sulayman narrated to us, al-Husayn ibn ‘Ali reported to us, ‘Amir ibn al-Furat reported to us, Asbat reported to us, from al-Suddi: "He has led me astray from the Reminder after it had come to me, and the Satan is ever a deserter to man," both of them were killed on the day of Badr.
His saying: "And the Messenger will say, 'O my Lord...'
15116 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-‘Abbas ibn al-Walid al-Narsi informed us, Yazid ibn Zuray‘ reported to us, Sa‘id reported to us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "And the Messenger will say, 'O my Lord, indeed my people have taken this Qur'an as a thing abandoned.'" This is the saying of your Prophet, complaining about his people to his Lord.
His saying: "...indeed my people have taken this Qur'an as a thing abandoned."
15117 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah reported to us, Warqa' reported to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid: "...have taken this Qur'an as a thing abandoned," meaning they speak nonsense regarding it, saying: "It is magic."
