His saying: "Ayat" (Signs).

15522 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, 'Ali ibn Zanjah reported to us, 'Ali ibn al-Husayn reported to us, from al-Husayn ibn Waqid, from Matar regarding "These are the signs (Ayat)," he said: The Zabur (Psalms).

15523 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah reported to us, Ibn Lahi'ah reported to me, 'Ata' reported to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding the saying of Allah: "The Book," meaning the Qur'an. It has been narrated from Ibn 'Abbas and al-Hasan al-Basri the same as that.

And the second view:

15524 - My father narrated to us, Sahl ibn 'Uthman reported to us, Ibn al-Sammak reported to us, from Abu Bakr, from al-Hasan regarding this verse: "These are the signs of the Book," he said: The Torah and the Zabur.

'Ali ibn al-Hasan al-Hisinjani narrated to us, Abu al-Jamahir reported to us, and Sa'id—meaning Ibn Bashir—reported to us, from Qatadah regarding: "Alif-Lam-Mim. These are the signs of the Book," he said: The books that passed before the Qur'an. "The clear" (al-Mubin), he said: Yes, by Allah, its blessing, its guidance, and its rectitude have been clarified.

His saying, the Almighty: "Lest you"

15525 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah reported to us, Ibn Lahi'ah reported to me, 'Ata' reported to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding His saying: "Lest you" (la'allaka), meaning: In order that.

15526 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, 'Ubayd Allah ibn Musa reported to us, from Isra'il, from Abu Yahya, from Mujahid regarding His saying: "Lest you kill yourself (bakhi'un nafsaka)," he said: Destroying yourself. It has been narrated from al-Hasan, 'Ikrimah, Qatadah, 'Atiyyah, and al-Dahhak the same as that.

15527 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Nasr ibn 'Ali reported to us, who said: I asked al-Asma'i about the Hadith of the Prophet—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—: "The people of Yemen have come to you." He said: Speak clearly (afsih). I said: Abu Ahmad al-Zubayri reported to me, from Isra'il, from Abu Yahya, from Mujahid: "Lest you kill yourself (bakhi'un nafsaka)," he said: Destroying yourself. He said: This which you told me, their sincerity reached such a point that they destroyed themselves."
