15571 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah reported to us, Warqa' reported to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: "That you have enslaved the Children of Israel" — meaning you oppressed them and employed them as servants.
15572 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Muhammad ibn 'Isa reported to us, Salamah reported to us, from Ibn Ishaq: "That you have enslaved the Children of Israel" — meaning that you have taken them as slaves, snatching their sons from their hands, enslaving whom you wish, and killing whom you wish, and I have only been brought to you to clarify that to you.
His saying, the Exalted: "Pharaoh said: 'And what is the Lord of the worlds?'"
15573 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, 'Amr ibn Hammad reported to us, from Asbat, from al-Suddi, who said: "Pharaoh said: 'And what is the Lord of the worlds?'"... He said: "Then who is the Lord of you two, O Moses?" He said: "Our Lord is He who gave everything its creation, then guided [it]."
15574 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Muhammad ibn 'Isa reported to us, Salamah reported to us, from Ibn Ishaq, who said: "Pharaoh said: 'And what is the Lord of the worlds?'" He said: He is asking for a description of the God who sent him to him, meaning: What is this god of yours? And regarding His saying: "The Lord of you and the Lord of your first forefathers," meaning: And the Creator of your first forefathers.

15575 - My father 'Umar al-'Adani narrated to us, Sufyan reported to us, from Abu Sa'id, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: He said: "Pharaoh said: 'And what is the Lord of the worlds?'" He said: "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, if you should be certain." This did not increase him in anything but defiance.
His saying: "He said to those around him"
15576 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Muhammad ibn 'Isa reported to us, Salamah reported to us, from Ibn Ishaq regarding His saying: "He said to those around him"— from his inner circle — "Do you not hear?" meaning as a denial of what he said, that there is no god but me.
15577 - And by the same chain, regarding His saying: "The Lord of you and the Lord of your first forefathers": meaning He created your first forefathers and created you from your forefathers.
15578 - And by the same chain, regarding His saying: "He said: 'Indeed, your messenger who has been sent to you is mad'" — Pharaoh said: "Indeed, your messenger who has been sent to you is mad," meaning: Is this speech correct, that he claims there is a god for you other than me?
