Abraham's father. So he called him and sent him, saying to him: "Be careful not to have intercourse with your wife." Azar said to him: "I am more concerned for my religion than that." But when he entered the village, he looked at his wife and could not restrain himself from having intercourse with her. He then fled with her to a village between Kufa and Basra called Ur, where he placed her in a hideout, and he would regularly check on her with food and whatever would sustain her. When the matter became prolonged for the King, he said: "The words of lying sorcerers; return to your land." They returned, and Abraham, peace be upon him, was born. With each passing day, he would grow as if it were a week, and a week as if it were a month, due to the speed of his growth. The King forgot about that, and Abraham grew up without anyone among the creation knowing it, except for himself, his father, and his mother. Azar said to his companions: "I have a son whom I have hidden. Do you fear for him from the King if I bring him out?" They replied: "No, bring him." So he went and brought him out. When the boy came out of the hideout, he looked at the livestock, the cattle, and the creatures, and he began to ask his father, saying: "What is this?" His father would inform him about the camel, that it is a camel; about the cow, that it is a cow; and about the sheep, that it is a sheep. He then said: "These creatures must have a Lord."

15690 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Salamah reported to us, Salamah ibn al-Fadl said, Muhammad ibn Ishaq reported to us: It was among the accounts of Abraham that Azar was a man from the people of Kutha, from a village in the Sawad, the Sawad of Kufa. At that time, the kingdom of the East belonged to Nimrod al-Khabit, who was called "the Rebel," and it is claimed that his kingdom encompassed the east and west of the earth, and he was in Babylon. The kingdom of his people was in the East, and it is said, the kingdom of Persia. It is said that the kingdom of the earth and the people never gathered under a single king except for three: Nimrod ibn Ra'u, Dhu al-Qarnayn, and Solomon son of David. When Allah intended to send Abraham as a proof against his people and a messenger to His servants—and there was no prophet between Noah and Abraham before him except Hud and Salih—and when the time of Abraham, in which Allah intended what He intended, drew near, the astrologers came to Nimrod and said to him: "We find in our knowledge that a boy will be born in this village of yours, who is called Abraham, who will depart from your religion and break your idols in such and such a month." This is among what I have deemed acceptable and verified in this report: that the messengers have stars with which they are born, which those who possess knowledge of them are aware of.

15691 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman reported to us, Salamah reported to us, Ibn Ishaq said:

When the year which the astrologers described to Nimrod arrived, Nimrod sent to every woman who was pregnant, because they were active and their condition, as they mention, was that the pregnancy in her womb was not known. When Allah intended that her child would reach full term, He intended to kill every male boy born in that month of that year out of caution for
