تفسير ابن أبي حاتم
مجلد 8 · صفحة 43قوله تعالى: للطائفين

الترجمة · EN

13873 - From Ka'b al-Ahbar, he said: "The House was like a foam (ghutha) - which is water - forty years before Allah created the earth, and from it the earth was spread out."

13874 - From al-Suddi, he said: "Allah, the Almighty, commanded Abraham to build the House, he and Ishmael. So Abraham set out until he reached Mecca, and he and Ishmael stood up and took the pickaxes, not knowing where the House was. So Allah sent a wind called the Wind of al-Khujuj; it had two wings and a head in the form of a snake. It cleared for them what was around the Ka'ba of the first House, and they followed it with the pickaxes, digging until they placed the foundation. That is when Allah says: 'And [mention] when We designated for Abraham the site of the House.' When they built the foundations and reached the location of the Corner (al-Rukn), Abraham said to Ishmael: 'Find me a good stone to place here.' He said: 'O father, I am lazy and exhausted.' He said: 'Leave that to me.' He went off to look for a stone for him and brought him a stone, but he was not satisfied with it and said: 'Bring me a stone better than this.' He went off to look for a stone, then Gabriel came to him with the Black Stone from Paradise. It was white, a white ruby like the foam, and Adam had brought it down from Paradise, but it turned black due to people's sins. Ishmael brought him a stone and found him at the Corner and said: 'O father, who brought this to you?' He said: 'He who is more energetic than you brought it to me.' While they were calling upon Him with the words through which Abraham tested his Lord, when they finished the building, Allah commanded him to proclaim. He said: 'And proclaim among the people the Hajj (pilgrimage).'

13875 - From Hawshab ibn Aqil, he said: "I asked Muhammad ibn Abbad ibn Ja'far: 'When did the House exist?' He said: 'The months were created for it.' I said: 'What was the length of Abraham's building?' He said: 'Eighteen cubits.' I said: 'How much is it today?' He said: 'Twenty-six cubits.' I said: 'Did anything of the stones of Abraham's building remain?' He said: 'The House was filled with them, except for two stones near the Stone (al-Hijr).'

His saying, the Almighty: 'For those who perform circumambulation (tawaf).'

13876 - From Ata, regarding His saying: 'For those who perform circumambulation,' he said: 'Those who circle around it.' And 'and those who stand': 'Those who pray at it.'

13877 - From Ibn Abbas, he said: "When Abraham finished building the House, he said: 'Lord, I have finished.'"
