14059 - My father narrated to us, Hisham ibn Khalid narrated to us, Shu'ayb ibn Ishaq narrated to us, Sa'id ibn Abi 'Arubah narrated to us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "Indeed, it is they who are the successful," meaning: the ones saved from the Fire to Paradise, and from the punishment of Allah to His mercy.
His saying: "He will say: How long did you stay on the earth in number of years?"
14060 - My father narrated to us, Muhammad ibn al-Wazir narrated to us, al-Walid narrated to us, Safwan narrated to us, from Ayfa' ibn 'Abd al-Kala'i that he heard him addressing the people, and he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When Allah has entered the people of Paradise into Paradise and the people of the Fire into the Fire, He will say: 'O people of Paradise, how long did you stay on the earth in number of years?' They will say: 'We stayed a day or part of a day.' He will say: 'Excellent is the bargain you made in a day or part of a day; My mercy, My pleasure, and My Paradise, remain therein eternally.' Then He will say: 'O people of the Fire, how long did you stay on the earth in number of years?' They will say: 'We stayed a day or part of a day.' He will say: 'Evil is the bargain you made in a day or part of a day; My Fire and My wrath, remain therein eternally, dwelling forever.'"
