His saying, the Exalted: "And the heart of the mother of Moses became void."
16705 - al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn al-Sabbah narrated to us: Abu Qatan narrated to us: Yunus ibn Abi Ishaq narrated to us, from his father, from 'Amr ibn Maymun, from Ibn Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him, regarding His saying: "And the heart of the mother of Moses became void," he said: "It became emptied of the remembrance of everything concerning worldly affairs, except for the remembrance of Moses."
16706 - Ayyub ibn Hassan al-Wasiti narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Abu Sa'd al-Baqqal, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas: "And the heart of the mother of Moses became void," he said: "Empty of everything except the remembrance of Moses."
16707 - Ahmad ibn Sinan narrated to us: 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, from Sufyan, from al-A'mash, from Hassan—meaning Abu al-Ashras—from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas: "And the heart of the mother of Moses became void," he said: "Void of everything other than the remembrance of Moses." It was narrated from Mujahid, 'Ikrimah, Abu 'Ubaydah, al-Hasan, Sa'id ibn Jubayr, al-Dahhak, and Matar al-Warraq similarly.
16708 - Muhammad ibn 'Ubayd Allah ibn Abi al-Thalj narrated to us: Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us: Asbagh ibn Zayd al-Warraq informed us: al-Qasim ibn Abi Ayyub narrated to us: Sa'id ibn Jubayr narrated to us, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "And the heart of the mother of Moses became void," he said: "The mother of Moses became distraught."
16709 - My father narrated to us: 'Abd ibn Sinan narrated to us: Nu'aym—meaning ibn Maysarah—narrated to us, from Gharqadah, from al-'Ala' ibn Badr regarding His saying: "And the heart of the mother of Moses became void," he said: "Aversion."
16710 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us: al-'Abbas informed us: Yazid narrated to us: Sa'id narrated to us, from Qatadah: "And the heart of the mother of Moses became void," meaning: "Distracted from everything except for the remembrance of Moses."
16711 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas narrated to us: 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Salamah narrated to us: Salamah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq who said: The mother of Moses had been hopeful for him when she cast him into the sea, listening for any mention of him, until the news came that Pharaoh had that morning found a boy in the Nile in a chest. She recognized him by the description and saw that he had fallen into the hands of his enemy from whom she had fled. Her heart became void of the covenant of Allah to her regarding him; the greatness of the affliction had made her forget the covenant she had from Allah concerning him."
