His saying, the Exalted: "And she said to his sister, 'Follow him.'"

16720 - Ahmad ibn Sinan al-Wasiti narrated to us: 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, from Sufyan, from al-A'mash, from Hassan—meaning Abu al-Ashras—from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding: "And she said to his sister, 'Follow him,'" [meaning] follow his tracks.

16721 - Muhammad ibn Isma'il al-Ahmasi narrated to us: 'Amr al-'Anqazi narrated to us: Sufyan narrated to us, from Sulayman ibn Mihran, from Hassan, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding: "And she said to his sister, 'Follow him,'" he said: "Watch him."

16722 - Muhammad ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Abi al-Thalj narrated to us: Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us: Asbagh ibn Zayd al-Warraq informed us: al-Qasim ibn Abi Ayyub narrated to us: Sa'id ibn Jubayr narrated to us, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding: "And she said to his sister, 'Follow him,'" [meaning] follow his tracks, or search for him; do you hear any mention of him? Is my son alive, or have the beasts eaten him? She had forgotten what Allah had promised her regarding him.

16723 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas narrated to us: 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Salamah narrated to us: Salamah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq regarding: "And she said to his sister, 'Follow him,'" [meaning] look at what they are doing to him.

His saying, the Exalted: "So she watched him from a distance, while they were unaware."

16724 - Muhammad ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Abi al-Thalj narrated to us: Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us: Asbagh ibn Zayd informed us: al-Qasim ibn Abi Ayyub narrated to us: Sa'id ibn Jubayr narrated to us, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding: "So she watched him from a distance," [meaning] his sister watched him from a distance.

His saying, the Exalted: "From a distance (an junubin)."

16725 - Muhammad ibn Isma'il al-Ahmasi narrated to us: 'Amr al-'Anqazi narrated to me: Sufyan narrated to us, from Sulayman ibn Mihran, from Hassan, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding: "So she watched him from a distance," he said: "From a side/apart."

16726 - Abu 'Abd Allah al-Tahrani narrated to us, in what he wrote to me: 'Abd al-Razzaq informed us: Ma'mar informed us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "So she watched him from a distance," he says: She watched him while being apart; she did not approach him.

16727 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us: Shababah narrated to us: Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid regarding His saying: "So she watched him from a distance," [meaning] from afar.
