16747 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us: Waki' narrated to us, from Isma'il ibn Muslim, from 'Ikrimah, [who] said: Judgment (al-hukm) is intellect (al-lubb).
The Second View:
16747 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, [who] said: Muhammad ibn al-'Ala' said: Yunus ibn Bukayr narrated to us, from Matar ibn Maymun, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas, [who] said: Judgment (al-hukm) is knowledge (al-'ilm).
16748 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us: Shababah narrated to us: Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid regarding His saying: "We gave him judgment and knowledge," [who] said: Understanding (al-fiqh), intellect (al-'aql), and knowledge before prophethood.
The Third View:
16749 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us: 'Amr ibn Hammad narrated to us: Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "We gave him judgment and knowledge," [who] said: Prophethood.
The Fourth View:
16750 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us: Waki' narrated to us, from Sufyan, from a man, from Mujahid: Regarding "judgment," he said: It is the Qur'an.
His saying, the Exalted: "And knowledge."
16751 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas narrated to us: 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Salamah narrated to us: Salamah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq regarding "We gave him judgment and knowledge," meaning Allah gave him judgment and knowledge: understanding in his religion and the religion of his fathers, and knowledge of what was in his religion of its laws and bounds.
His saying, the Exalted: "And thus do We reward the doers of good."
16753 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas narrated to us: 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Salamah narrated to us: Salamah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, [who] said: "And when he reached his full strength and attained maturity, We gave him judgment and knowledge," meaning Allah gave him judgment and knowledge. Allah says: "And thus do We reward the doers of good."
His saying, the Exalted: "And he entered the city."
16754 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us: 'Amr ibn Hammad narrated to us: Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi that Pharaoh rode on a conveyance, and Moses was not with him. When Moses arrived, it was said to him: 'Pharaoh has ridden off.'
