16897 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi reported to us in what he wrote to me: Asbagh ibn al-Faraj informed me: 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam narrated to us regarding the saying of Allah, Mighty and Majestic is He: "And draw your hand close to yourself from the fear," he said: From what entered into him of panic from the serpent and fear. He said: That is the "rahab" (fear/dread). Then he recited the saying of Allah, Mighty and Majestic is He: "They used to call upon Us with longing and dread," saying: with fear and greed/hope.
His saying, Exalted is He: "Then those are two proofs from your Lord."
16898 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us: Shababah narrated to us: Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: "Then those are two proofs from your Lord," he said: The staff and the hand. It was also narrated from al-Suddi something similar.
16899 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us: al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid al-Narsi informed us: Yazid ibn Zuray' narrated to us, from Sa'id, from Qatadah, regarding His saying: "Then those are two proofs from your Lord," meaning: two clear signs from your Lord.
16900 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi reported to us in what he wrote to me: Asbagh ibn al-Faraj informed me: 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam narrated to us regarding the saying of Allah: "Then those are two proofs from your Lord," and he recited the saying of Allah, Mighty and Majestic is He: "Say: 'Produce your proof,'" meaning: bring forth an evidence on that which we know. And he said: "Two proofs from Allah."
16901 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas narrated to us: 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Salamah narrated to us: Salamah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq: "Then he inserted his hand into his pocket, then brought it out white like snow, then returned it, and it came out as it was before, in its natural color. Then He said to him: 'Then those are two proofs from your Lord.'"
His saying, Exalted is He: "To Pharaoh and his chiefs."
16902 - Abu 'Abd Allah al-Tehrani reported to us in what he wrote to me: Isma'il ibn 'Abd al-Karim narrated to us, from 'Abd al-Samad ibn Ma'qil, he said: I heard Wahb saying: Then his Lord said to him: "Approach." He continued to bring him near until he pressed his back against the trunk of the tree, so he became settled, and the shivering left him. He gathered his hands upon the staff and bowed his head and neck. Then He said to him: "I have stood you today in a station that is not fitting for any human being after you..." The hadith in its entirety, and it has been written in Surah Taha.
His saying, Exalted is He: "Indeed, they have been a people defiantly disobedient."
16903 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us: Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to me, 'Ata' ibn Dinar narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding the saying of Allah: "Indeed, they have been a people defiantly disobedient," meaning: rebellious sinners.
