17031 - My father narrated to us, Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman al-Ju‘fi narrated to us, that Masruq recited: "Is he whom We have promised a good promise, then he attains it?"
His saying, Exalted is He: "Like one whom We have provided with the enjoyment of the worldly life."
17032 - Abu Zur‘ah narrated to us, ‘Amr ibn ‘Ali narrated to us, Abu Qutaybah narrated to us, Shu‘bah narrated to us, he said: I heard al-Suddi saying regarding "Like one whom We have provided with the enjoyment of the worldly life": He said, Abu Jahl ibn Hisham.
17033 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-‘Abbas informed us, Yazid narrated to us, from Sa‘id, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "Like one whom We have provided with the enjoyment of the worldly life," he said: This is the disbeliever; he is not, by Allah, like the believer.
His saying, Exalted is He: "Then he is on the Day of Resurrection among those brought [for punishment]."
17034 - And by it, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "Then he is on the Day of Resurrection among those brought [for punishment]"—meaning in the torment of Allah.
17035 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa’ narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid regarding His saying: "Among those brought [for punishment]"—the people of the Fire, they were brought to it.
17036 - al-Mundhir ibn Shadhan narrated to us, Ahmad ibn Ishaq al-Hadrami narrated to us, Abu al-Ashhab narrated to us, from al-Hasan regarding His saying: "Like one whom We have provided with the enjoyment of the worldly life, then he is on the Day of Resurrection among those brought [for punishment]"—he said: How wretched is an enjoyment that ends with its owner in the Fire.
His saying, Exalted is He: "And the Day He will call them and say, 'Where are My partners whom you used to claim?'"
17037 - It was read to Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Uthman al-Dimashqi, Muhammad ibn Shu‘ayb ibn Shabur narrated to us, Abu Rafi‘ al-Madini Isma‘il ibn Rafi‘ narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ka‘b al-Qurazi, from Abu Hurayrah, that he said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, told him in the presence of a group of his companions: "Allah will exchange the earth for another earth, and the heavens—He will expand them, flatten them, and stretch them like the stretching of the ‘Ukazi leather." He said: "Then He will call out with His voice and say: 'Beware! Whoever had a partner for Me, let him come. Beware! Whoever had a partner for Me, let him come.' But no one will come to Him. Then a caller will call out in a way that all the gathering will hear, and he will say: 'Beware! Let every people join their gods and those they used to worship other than Allah.'"
