‘Ata’ ibn Dinar narrated to me, from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr, regarding His saying: "Whoever hopes for the meeting with Allah," he says: Whoever fears it. It was also narrated from al-Suddi similar to that.

17153 - Abu Zur‘ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn Bukayr reported to us, ‘Abd Allah ibn Lahi‘ah narrated to me, ‘Ata’ ibn Dinar narrated to me, from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr regarding the saying: "the meeting with Allah," [meaning] the Resurrection in the Hereafter.
The Second Aspect:
17154 - Ahmad ibn Sinan al-Wasiti narrated to us, ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi reported to us, from Sufyan, from Rabi‘ ibn Abi Rashid, from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr regarding His saying: "Whoever hopes for the meeting with Allah," he said: [meaning] the reward of his Lord.
His saying, the Exalted: "For indeed, the term of Allah is coming, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing."
17155 - Muhammad ibn al-‘Abbas, the freed slave of Banu Hashim, narrated to us, Muhammad ibn ‘Amr Zunayj reported to us, Salamah reported to us, Muhammad ibn Ishaq reported: The Hearing, meaning: Hearing of what they say.
His saying, the Exalted: "The Knowing"
17156 - From Ibn Ishaq: Knowing of what they conceal.
His saying, the Exalted: "And whoever strives only strives for [the benefit of] himself."
17157 - My father narrated to us, Abu Ghassan al-Nahdi reported to us, al-Hasan ibn Salih reported to us, from Abu Bashir, meaning: ‘Imran ibn Bashir al-Halabi, from al-Hasan, who said: Indeed, the servant strives for the sake of Allah as is His due, even if he has not struck with a sword.
His saying, the Exalted: "Indeed, Allah is free from need"
17158 - I read to Muhammad ibn al-Fadl ibn Musa, Muhammad ibn ‘Ali ibn al-Hasan ibn Shaqiq reported to us, Muhammad ibn Muzahim reported to us, from Bukayr ibn Ma‘ruf, from Muqatil ibn Hayyan, regarding His saying: "Indeed, Allah is free from need," in His dominion.

١٧١٥٥ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو زُنَيْجٌ، ثنا سَلَمَةُ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ: السميع أَيْ: سُمَيْعٌ لِمَا يَقُولُونَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: الْعَلِيمُ
١٧١٥٦ - عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ: عَلِيمٌ بِمَا يُخْفُونَ.
قَوْلُه تَعَالَى: وَمَنْ جَاهَدَ فَإِنَّمَا يُجَاهِدُ لِنَفْسِهِ
١٧١٥٧ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا أَبُو غَسَّانَ النَّهْدِيُّ، ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي بَشِيرٍ يَعْنِي: عِمْرَانَ بْنَ بَشِيرٍ الْحَلَبِيَّ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ: إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ لَيُجَاهِدُ فِي اللَّهِ حَقَّ جِهَادِهِ وَمَا ضَرَبَ بِسَيْفٍ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَغَنِيُّ
١٧١٥٨ - قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ مُوسَى، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُزَاحِمٍ، عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ مَعْرُوفٍ، عَنْ مُقَاتِلِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ فِي قَوْلِهِ: أَنَّ الله لغني في سلطانه.
