17193 - Ahmad ibn Sinan narrated to us, ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi reported to us, from Sufyan, from Salamah ibn Kuhayl, from Mujahid, he said: Ibn ‘Umar said to me: How long did Noah remain among his people? I said: A thousand years minus fifty years. He said: People have continued to be in a state of decline in their lifespans, their intellects, and their character until this day of yours.

17194 - My father narrated to us, Musa ibn Isma‘il reported to us, Hammad reported to us, from ‘Ali ibn Zayd, from Yusuf ibn Mihran, from Ibn ‘Abbas, he said: Noah was sent when he was forty years old, and he remained among his people for a thousand years minus fifty years, and he lived for sixty years after the Flood until people became numerous or spread out.

17195 - ‘Ubayd ibn Muhammad ibn Yahya ibn Hamzah al-Dimashqi informed me in what he wrote to me, Abu al-Jamahir reported to us, Sa‘id ibn Bishr reported to us, Qatadah reported to us regarding His saying: "And We certainly sent Noah to his people, and he remained among them a thousand years minus fifty years," and he lived sixty years after the Flood. It is said that this is his entire age.

17196 - Qatadah said: He remained among them before calling them for three hundred years, and he called them for three hundred years, and he remained after the Flood for three hundred and fifty years.

17197 - Abu Zur‘ah narrated to us, Safwan reported to us, al-Walid reported to us, Abu Rafi‘ Isma‘il ibn Rafi‘ reported to us, from Zayd ibn Aslam, from ‘Ata’ ibn Yasar, from Ka‘b al-Ahbar regarding the saying of Allah: "And he remained among them a thousand years minus fifty years," he said: He lived for seventy years after that.
