The second interpretation:

17399 - Muhammad ibn Ayyub narrated to us, he said: I found in the book of my grandfather Yahya ibn al-Durays, he said: Sufyan, and it reached me from Abu al-'Aliyah regarding His saying: "O My servants who have believed, indeed My earth is spacious," he said: "The emerging of the allies (awliya') of Allah, meaning what they did, at the time of their emerging."

The third interpretation:

17400 - My father narrated to us, some of the Razi scholars narrated to us, Ibrahim ibn al-Mukhtar narrated to us, Shaddad ibn Sa'id Abu Talhah narrated to us, Ghaylan ibn Jarir narrated to me, from Mutarrif ibn 'Abd Allah regarding His saying: "Indeed My earth is spacious," he said: "Indeed My mercy toward you is spacious."

The fourth interpretation:

17401 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid regarding His saying: "My earth is spacious," [meaning] so emigrate.

17402 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us in what he wrote to me, Asbagh ibn al-Faraj narrated to us, he said: I heard 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam regarding the saying of Allah, the Almighty and Majestic: "O My servants who have believed, indeed My earth is spacious, so worship only Me," he said: "He means those of the believers who were oppressed in Makkah."

17403 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, from Abu Bakr 'Uthman ibn Abi Shaybah, Zayd ibn al-Hubab narrated to us, Shaddad ibn Sa'id Abu Talhah ibn Ghaylan ibn Jarir narrated to us, from Mutarrif ibn 'Abd Allah ibn al-Shikhkhir regarding the saying of Allah: "Indeed My earth is spacious," he said: "My provision is spacious for you."

17404 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, al-Walid ibn Muslim narrated to us, from al-Awza'i, he said: I heard Bilal ibn Sa'd [regarding]: "So fear only Me," [he said]: "He puts fear into them."

His saying, the Almighty: "Every soul will taste death."

17405 - My father narrated to us, 'Abd al-'Aziz al-Uways narrated to us, my father 'Ali al-Hashimi—meaning al-Lihbi—narrated to us, from Ja'far ibn Muhammad ibn 'Ali ibn Akhsaf, from his father, that 'Ali ibn Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him, said: When the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, passed away, and the condolence came, a comer came to them whose voice they heard but did not see his form, and he said: "Peace be upon you, O people of the House, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. Every soul..."
